“The fun part about this is that Obama just sealed his fate for the next election. He has a snowballs chance in Hell of winning after this little illegal stunt.”

Possibly...But I am not putting any money on that...

IF this really gets legs, it already is...

Like I;’ve said, I’m not in favor of an initial lawsuit by anyone, what I want to see is a US Attorney filing a stay (injunction) right now, today, on this nonsense...There has got to be one somewhere in this country that can get in and get this done...And a judge to grant this motion...

Then...Put in the lawsuit after the injunction is set...

All of this needs to happen sooner than later...

“I sent in a number of very specific comments about the flawed nature of the proposed regulations. I’m sure that many others did so as well. All to no discernable effect.”

I expect you didn’t have a lot of hope it would generate a substantive response...

This administration is pushing those of us who know the score and the way the game is being played into civil discourse...And what is not funny, we are not playing games...

Well, they probably believe it is the “illusion” of credibility that keeps their motor running...

They are hedging their bets on the fact that there are too many stupid people out there that would support them for a second term because this action sticks it to all of us racist, anti-immigrant (their words, not mine) red-necks...

But then again this has been a consistant theme to what this administration does...

Somewhere, sometime, we need to post the exact text of this policy (regulation) and what it actually covers...Just this morning in the spanse of 30 minutes I heard 3 different iterations of this policy from the same station...

They (government) says that this is to get reports of gun sales of .22 semi-automatic rifles and above in caliber...

But we all know it has to cover more...Thats what I want to know...

How deep does this rabbit hole go???

Can’t believe they never mention, (although I suppose they have rules for such) bolt action rifles.

My Mossberg .270 is a dangerous weapon. Just ask all those deer.;>)

Even after the gunrunner scandal broke, the play book is continuing.

Makes you wonder doesn't it.

There is no legal requirment, but if you are a FFL holder you will comply. They can shut you down for less, and you will not get the case heard.

Well First of all this is Unconstitutional. Can’t single out certain states to enforce a Reg and not the other states. Plus in the States mention they do not enforce Laws re: ILLEGALS. Selective enforcement.

Since BATF broke the LAW, who trusts them to enforce this Reg?

Oh, they’ll (BATFE) enforce it alright...

What needs to be done, and I’ll say it again, is a stay or injunction needs to be filed quickly in a court somewhere and granted...This will cut them off at the cajones...

Then we can see if a lawsuit (which takes a little longer to settle into that process) will be necessary...

This is just what they’ve (Administration / ATF) been working “under the radar” on for the last year or so...Now they’ve pulled the trigger (for lack of a better term) and we should expect the pro-gun lobby to get up off their ass and take care of this before it gets much uglier than it is...

Another example of how flawed “this” policy is...

Who’s to say that the cartels won’t go to a “non-border” state and make multiple purchases...

In addition, who says the cartels are really buying mass quantities from US gunstores in the first place???

If I was a bad guy, I sure as Hades wouldn’t be buying from a business that is required to maintain this type of records and paperwork in the first place...

Not that in an investigation I would respond or turn in what I bought if I took the weapons out of the country of origin anyway...

Just another example of an assinine government agency and an Administration that has but one purpose...

Destroy what freedoms we have in this country...

So as far as I am concerned, the numbnuts who voted this abomination into office are just as complicite in the destruction of those freedoms as the elected officials they put into office...

In the end, if we ever get back control of the process, a conservative nixes an entitlement program that keeps the stupid lazy people on the dole...If they sstart to complain, I’d simply add to their woes by telling them, “Who says your entitled to this support?”...

If that causes a stir, and forces a bunch of freedom sucking worthless types to get back to beig productive, so be it...If it causes a few to decide to go out and take what is not theirs, then some of us certainly have the means to take care of that issue as well...

Bottom line, these kinds of policies create more chaos and misery than anything else in this nation...

Just my opinion...

I expect you didn’t have a lot of hope it would generate a substantive response...

I have no illusions about the depth of corruption of the Obama regime. I fully expect them to brazenly violate the law at will, and I have generally not been surprised by their actions.

However I have seen instances in the past (for example, with the FCC or the EPA or both IIRC) where Federal agencies have had their pee-pees whacked by the courts for enacting regulations while completely ignoring legitimate public comments. So I have at least some hope that it remains possible for the courts to rein in the Obama thugs.

That's why, in support of that goal, I sent in my comments. In the right hands, they will serve as ammunition to help torpedo the ATF's power grab (with apologies for the mixed metaphor)...

It was for the same reason that I submitted reply comments to the ATF's recent attempt to ban the importation of certain shotguns while illegally broadening the interpretation of what makes a firearm suitable for "sporting purposes"...

I agree...It is the effort folks like us put in by paying attention, making comments to the right people, and if they don’t respond, and there may be some legitimate reasons for the chirping cricket response, but in the long run we all help supoprt one another here and in doing what we do as individuals to achieve those goals...

They are ALL going to dread the next major election...That’s when it’ll get interesting...

What is bad is I see in the NRA and in some of the state affiliated branches a change in the way the issue is being handled...I see the “hunter” faction taking over most of the responses and actions by the government, and some of those heavy in that faction don’t care much for those of us who are not avid hunters, but buy non-sporting firearms for all the “wrong” reasons as far as they (NRA hunter cadre)are concerned...

And before the aforementioned “hunter” group comes in and crucifies me for having this opinion, let me qualify that by saying, I have seen it, it is a recent change in attitude within the NRA and the state affiliates, and I am not impressed with what I see...

As a non-sporting firearms owner, I have never, ever discounted or lessened the legitimacy of our hunting community and their right to keep and bear arms, but I have seen over the recent years some of that same community champion their rights as hunters, and discounted and de-legitimized the non-sporting firearms community and our desire to keep and bear arms...

Mr. Zumbo comes to mind in that regard...

I just call it like I see it...And I still would go to the mat (even now) for any gun owner, whether they hunt or not...I just don’t see the vigor or activism to protect the overall 2nd Amendment community, coming much from the hunting community these days...

Just my opinion...

BTW, for the record, I am a Life Member of the NRA...

Sorry for the long rant...

They already have that info...all they need to do is check the DOJ, CIA, FBI, DEA and ICE employee databases.
