Israel really has no choice but to take back the Sinai.

How is a bankrupt socialist country supposed to get the wherewithal to invade and occupy land that is larger than what is presently under their control?

How does this work out in your head? What do you do with all of the Egyptian nationals that have their homes and businesses in the Sinai? Just walk in and say in Hebrew "You are an Israeli now." or just kill all half million of them if they don't make themselves international refugees?

The peninsula's only real value is that it borders the canal and attracts tourists. How exactly is the economy of the Sinai going to be helped with an overwhelming military invasion? What will this do to the hearts and minds of the somewhat complacent in Egypt who were looking for any reason at all to avoid war? With an invasion, you have tens of millions of Egyptians fighting mad, and you have a billion Muslims who now have a cause of action.

If Israel is having a difficult time just managing to keep liberal retards on private yachts forming a "flotilla" and causing a scene, how does violating international treaties and engaging in expensive armed invasion supposed to work?

The global pointy-heads will howl and stamp their feet...

Really? Invade and conquer 23,000 square miles of difficult terrain and cities filled with tourists and SCUBA divers? It wouldn't be just the global pointy-heads, it will be rag heads, skin heads and every head of State weighing in.

Wrong.

Israel has weathered the global economic downturn better than the US and Europe with an enviable GDP.

In the past 20 years Israel has moved away from socialism toward a free market economy by privatizing banking and other industries.

See the Heritage report that came out recently:

You are absolutely right it is INCONCEIVABLE that Israel could capture and occupy the Sinai. Never in the history of the world could it happen. The U.S. State Department does not even consider this a remote possibility and the Israelis haven't had this on their list of possible military actions ever since it was turned back over to the Egyptians 30 years ago. I really should check with you from now on and tap into your ability to glance at a map and come to conclusions.
