If the Republican establishment wants him, that bothers me...a lot.

Why? A candidate can be preferred by more than one wing of a party, especially if the goal is to win.

Nobody who has announced is an odds-on winner except maybe Romney and who really would prefer him over anybody but obama?

MB is cool but seems half a step away from a spinout most of the time and the real race hasn't even started.

A core of freepers believe that palin is the messiah but the next POTUS will need 65-70 million votes to get there, with tens of millions coming from the middle. No way she comes close to that in a general election.

The economy will be the hinge and Perry's Texas story in that area is the best we have right now.

Why is it a problem if the Republican establishment likes and pushes for a candidate? That should be obvious! Have you completely forgotten compassionate conservatism, destroying the free market in order to save it, illegal immigration amnesty, etc.? Where were you the past 20 years? The Republican establishment is a big part of our current mess!
