That is a great quote. Are Pubbies finally growing pairs?

To 5 - Weird, isn’t it? It’s as if they’ve awoken, looked down and discovered they actually have a pair.

Congressional leaders will return to the White House at 3:45 today to continue negotiations on reaching a deal.

If our Congressional leadership was serious about their "No new taxes" mandate, they would insist on Obama conceding that point prior to agreeing to meet with him at all. All those meetings are doing is giving Obama free PR.....to the detriment of the Republicans.

“I hate to sound all negative, but I believe it’s just a bone spur—just a little something to irritate king hussein”

Even if you’re right, it could yield big dividends. Nobody talks this way to a Malignant Narcissist who commands the greatest military in the world, and who can joy ride around on AF1 on a whim. When Obama heard these words, he felt a rush of Narcissistic Rage unlike anything you can imagine. An enraged MN is even less sane than an MN who is being coddled and deferred to. Let’s just hope McConnell let’s it hang out there for a while, before ‘softening his rhetoric’. The more of this stuff the Glass Jaw has to deal with, the closer we are to his public meltdown/Captain Queeg-strawberries moment.

My theory is that republican women have shown way more cajones than republican men...so maybe they have finally decided they need to grow some. I’m gonna reserve judgement of the success of that though. I’m still concerned that they will cave in the end.

The GOP leadership needs to hold 0’s feet to the fire and make him spell out in detail his budget cuts.

And every day the WH doesn’t respond, they need to ask again: Mr. President, what are you willing to cut?

“Ryan budget is a scam also cuts in future spending..”

I agree. And said so as well while everyone else was fawning over Ryan.

The only hope left is for the debt limit to NOT be raised and for forced cuts to happen immediately.

Anyone proposing anything less than trillions in cuts this year is not serious

Do I detect the growth of a spine among Republican politicians?

Actually, I’m beginning to believe they have. They probably caught a major earful after Boehner was snookered by the regime on the actual savings for the FY 11 budget. One thing that has given me added hope... usually, when the GOPers cave, they do so within the first few days of battle. We’re well past a week and they really haven’t given an inch. Good for them, and more importantly, good for America!

Encouraging signs of a spine forming in the GOP.

Don’t forget that the debt “ceiling” is COMPLETELY IRRELEVANT. When you get close they always raise it.

All this BS is just an attempt to divide and defeat the GOP.

smoke and mirrors, tax hikes or default. Republicans choose none of the above”

But....doesn’t that choice of none of the above mean the dreaded “default”? The GOP should not budge here. This is Obama’s problem, and the American people know it. Independents know it. It’s up to Obama. He can do spending cuts, or default.

(Either way, Obama is history here. He’s the President and rightly or wrongly, the voters will think that the President will have to put forth a solution. When default hits, all hell will break loose politically speaking. If he cuts spending, his base will push for impeachment [maybe not an exaggeration]. Obama lost this issue back in November. This is just playing that out).
