I don’t think there’s any way house Republicans would vote to pass this ridiculous “Plan B.” I guess we’ll see.

This “proposal” came out WAY too fast after Obama’s threat of Social Security withholding

Obama's not going to stop any S.S. checks...it would be political suicide for the senior vote...he can't afford more voter losses, especially among seniors. I would have called his bluff....but this move by McCon. was quick...what are they doing we are not privy to?

...Norquist maintains that he supports forcing the president to put a plan in writing...

Then the way to do that is to get Harry Reid to pass a budget in the Senate, since it is controlled by Democrats.

Any Senate plan is, by definition, Obama's plan.

...he did this before and they fell for it early on. Uses this for his advantage..struts his stuff...and makes the rep.s look foolish to say the least.

Exactly.

Republicans gave away all of their leverage during the lame duck session of the 111th Congress.

They were slow to get started in the 112th Congress.

And now they're getting played again by allowing the Senate to be marginalized, and making everything be between the House and Obama.

McConnell should stay out of it until the Senate goes on record with a budget, otherwise, all he's doing is mucking up the works by being a powerless voice who can nothing but undermine his side's position.

I am here to save my dear President's political career.

I propose that Congress give up their Constitutional authority and
give President Obama unprecedented power to raise the debt ceiling

by $2.4 trillion in three installments through the end of his term!

Tea Party group tells McConnell to ‘find his spine’
By Daniel Strauss - 07/12/11 04:35 PM ET

The influential conservative Tea Party organization FreedomWorks is pushing back on a plan by Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell to hand much of the responsibility for raising the debt ceiling to President Obama.

“Sen. McConnell thinks cutting spending is too hard. Help him find his spine! Call him at 202-224-2541,” the group tweeted.

The tweet came shortly after McConnell unveiled a plan urging Congress to pass legislation that would allow Obama to make a number of small increases to the debt ceiling.

In McConnell’s plan, Congress could only stop Obama from raising the debt ceiling in comparably small increments by passing disapproval resolutions. The resolutions would require two-thirds’ support in both the House and Senate to overcome Obama’s veto.

But PJ they are claiming there just isn’t the time now. Though we certainly know they’ve had all the time in the world but opted to take it to the last minute.

What I just don’t get...is everything seems to be coming down to 10 or 12 people determining the plans and deciding what the score is going to be...it’s as though we have no Congress at all...just these few..and frankly I’m getting pretty tired of Obamas Ex. Orders and these select few running our country. We might as well throw in the congress.

I'm all for forcing the President to offer up something in writing, not that it would have any real meaning in the end since Obama doesn't play by Honky Rules. But McConnell's proposal should have stayed on the shelf, and frankly, I can't believe that someone in the GOP Senate delegation didn't tell him that. IMO, the GOP should step back from these negotiations, put their heads together, and figure out ways to put Obama on the spot that don't involve caving to him.

If the McConnell plan gets approved by Congress, there will be a revolt by the Tea Party movement and calls for a third party to nominate someone we can support in 2012. Hear me now, believe me later. This could be the straw that broke the camel’s back.

They’ll just build up suspence and put on a big show until the 11th hour. Then they’ll strike a “deal” and kick the can further down the road.

"And, should Obama be out of order, Congress has the power of impeachment and removal."

Those jackasses in the Senate would never remove that horse's ass. Too closely related.

Democratic leaders: We don’t know who’s running GOP debt talks

The Racket.

All part of the DC Banking Investment Bureaucracy Racket. The ones that actually have the Puppet spammer on leash.

The same ones that actually agreed to meet with the Spammer at Blair House for the “We Won” Vampire-Care so called conference.

Notice again the timing for the extension..right into the implementation of Vampire-care 2013, what the Racket is counting on.
