I didn’t forget it so much, as didn’t pick up on the reference. I didn’t say I was Republican at the time, just that I was old enough to vote then, though not old enough to worry greatly about the details of Federal program funding. I was still having trouble funding my own life.
If your first Presidential Election was 1972 the odds are very good you were not worried about any of the issues.
