I've never seen a broadcast where the news anchor sat as far away from the camera as Rachel Maddow is at MSNBC. From where she's sitting it appears that using telescopic lens during the broadcast might be warranted

Can anyone blame her for gloating? Sen. McConnell is a wholly-owned property of the Democrat party.

i DON’T know what to think. I think the MSM is misleading us. Has anyone heard anything clearly indicating that our side is going to cave in here?

That’s my point. MSNBC has discovered the secret to Maddow’s
on air career longevity.

We need to write MSNBC (not that they care) and give her negative feedback, then start writing the ADVERTISERS and tell them to pull their ads or we will not buy their products...trust me, it works.

Maddow has a face for radio....

As for MSNBC in general, Maddow, Schultz, O'Donnell.... what a line-up! Why does Comcast keep these ratings-losers on the air?

Reminds me of a quote from the movie "Tootsie"...

Rita: I'd like to make her look a little more attractive, how far can you pull back?
Cameraman: How do you feel about Cleveland?

There will be more Kabuki theatre, but I’m expecting the Republicans will cave and eventually agree to a debt ceiling hike. They just don’t have the guts, and it isn’t really their fault - as a nation, we simply don’t have the will or strength of character to face what an instantaneous 42% cut to federal spending will mean, which is what will happen if the debt ceiling isn’t raised.

If the people overall lack the will to stop the rampant federal dependence and the debt ponzi, don’t be surprised when the politicians cave in. The problem isn’t so much the politicians, it’s our own family, friends, neighbors, and coworkers (as well as our past generations) who have enabled this system to exist via their votes.

Civics lesson Ms. Maddow, the House must pass the bill and they never will.

I just got an email from DeMint’s organization, the Senate Conservative Fund. He says that he and those his org helped elect (ie, Paul, Rubio, Lee, Jonson, etc.) are absolutely in lock step agreement that this should be opposed.

This is very problematic, and McConnell may have really screwed this up.

If Obama senses that conservative opposition is as great as we hope it is, then...why wouldn’t he accept this, and then watch it go down in flames b/c of conservatives? If he does that, doesn’t he look like the Great Pragmatist, willing to work with McConnell, but the Evil Conservatives are the ones who killed this?

That particular narrative “might” have some appeal to some indy/moderate voters. So McConnell better HOPE that Obama kills his reaching out here, b/c if he makes conservatives kill it, Obama is going to be re-elected, a third party is going to rise up (more or less...maybe not formally), and McConnell himself will be ousted at next opportunity.

We’d actually be better off is someone just outed him so we really could oust him.

If there’s a better example of a blackmailed pol on the planet, I’d like to know who it is.

I disagree that Obama’s re-election hinges on the debt deal. Jobs or lack there of is what will determine if Obama wins next year. I doubt too many people 15 months from now will care about this deal if unemployment is still over 8%.

I agree with the rest of your analysis that this is still a bad idea..McConnell needs to stop smoking crack.

Who says the battle is over? When the “leaders” of one said offer themselves up for surrender. What level of trust is due McConnell after his handing 0bama the trump card? What’s 0bama’s incentive for negotiating any further, when for him, the worst case scenario would be enhanced powers?

After McConnell’s pathetically miserable excuse for “leadership” in the disastrous lame-duck session, and now this. I was hoping Boehner would slam-dunk that idea forthwith, but instead he supports it. So tell me... what’s the path to victory here?

“DemonRAT in sheep’s clothing”... Please. Go back and research my 17,000+ posts and see if they jive with your accusation.
