"What do you make of this? Explain Pawlenty."

Pawlenty is a non-polarizing, non-controversial figure who does not generate negative feelings among the vast swath of moderate voters. That explains his low unfavorable number and the low percentage of people who would refuse to vote for him. This "strength" is also his weakness as he also does not generate intense positive support among the active base of the party, which is why he is not taking off in the GOP Primary. I do not find this surprising.

What I do find as a bit of a surprise is that Michele Bachmann IS considered a polarizing and controversial figure, yet her unfavorable number and percentage of those who would not vote for her is also low. That is unusual for a candidate who generates high positive intensity scores and is known for firing up the base. The media clearly is not succeeding in painting her as an extreme fringe candidate. If she can continue to raise her name recognition and keep these negative scores down, the media ill have a hard time sinking her like they did with Sarah. There is something to the old saying that first impressions are lasting impressions.

Perry is another one who has room to raise his favorables while keeping his negative scores down. He has yet to actually start campaigning, so he has a lot of potential to move up and starts out with relatively high poll numbers before he even begins campaigning.

I do not believe in the “science” of political polling done by Partisan people, having said that, Palin is well within the margin of error in 2nd place and is not even announced.

Also I believe it was Fox (also partisan/they ALL are) had a poll last week that included Perry/Palin and the rest, and they had a terrible number for Sarah. One of them is lying? They ALL have an agenda.They are never going to have a poll showing Sarah Palin out front, but she will win without their help

And speaking of unscientific, how bout averaging phony polls??? LOL that is totally ridiculous on it`s own.

So MSM Push polling for Bachmann, and they can`t even get MB in 2nd place alone outside of the margin of error.

Does not bode well for Bachmann, combined with report yesterday that big donors are not interested in Romney or Bachmann

Favorable and unfavorable ratings are determined by the pollster prior to phoning anybody. The answer to your question is easy...The pollster wants to see MB do well, so they fix the numbers the way they like. Does not have to make sense. Point....even with their MB pushing, they for some reason could not get her out of a statistical tie with Palin?? Go figure?

Gov Palin is not going to have favorable polls ever, but she will win if she runs. Pollsters are all either Democrats or Rep Est

Pray away the gay is going to sink Bachmann.

A candidate can probably get away with his/her spouse's "Pray Away the Gay" if that was all there was to it.

However, when you have Marcus Bachmann, on tape, ..... lisping as badly as Richard Simmons, ..... talking about how gays are like "barbarians that need to be disciplined" ...... Whoa!

Just close your eyes and listen to the tape.

Once the liberal attack media start heavily exploiting this, the Marcus Bachmann Gaydar jokes will be flying from coast to coast.

A poor, but unfunny, choice of words lasts several news cycles. Once you make yourself into a very memorable joke, that damage lasts for decades .... (Jimmy Carter and the Killer Rabbit) (Dan Quayle and the potatoEs).

The Saturday Night Live skit writers are going to have a field day with that tape. Maybe an "Airplane" spoof .....

"Joey, do you like movies about gladiators and about gay barbarians that need to be disciplined?"

Gov Palin is not going to have favorable polls ever, but she will win if she runs.

If you are talking about the general election in November 2012 and not simply a primary, that is the "Mother of All Non Sequiturs".

Outside of the 29% of all voters that are Republicans, Sarah Palin is one of the most negatively viewed politicians in all of America and one of the politicians that Obama can actually beat like a rented mule.

It would be Christine O'Donnell deja vu and Joe Miller deja vu all over again.

Sarah Palin's Senate candidate could not even win in her home State of Alaska ..... even against a WRITE-IN candidate with a hard to spell name.

If Obama is to be defeated in 2012, we need to be dealing with reality and not with Heaven's Gate suicidal fantasies.

=====================

Gov. Sarah Palin has an approval rating of less than 40 percent among Alaskans. ... The Moore poll gives Palin a 39 percent positive rating and 49 percent negative rating among Alaskans. Twelve percent said they were neutral.

=====================

FOX News Poll (February 7-9, 2011)

Question 3: I am going to read you a list of names. Tell me if you think that person would make a good President or not.

Sarah Palin:

.................YES.........NO.......DK.....Never heard of

ALL...........23%.......72%.........4%.......1%

Dem ...........7%........87%........5%.......1%

Rep ...........40%.......56%.......3%.......1%

Ind ...........25%........69%.......3%.......1%

=====================

Thanks for your thoughts on this.

It’s part science, part voodoo, part timing, part luck, part divine intervention and a lot of polling!!

She is one of the few political figures who have consistently received higher negatives than Obama and would be his dream opponent.

He nothing Richard Simmons. If you're going to attack Bachmann, stop using the most ridiculous leftist talking points.

And, he is right. Homosexual males are spreading STDs and HIV like wildfire. According to the CDC, 25% of homosexual males in urban areas have HIV and 44% of young homosexuals don't even know they have HIV.

It's time to stop cowering in corner and being afraid of politically correct lies.

The same ruling class Republicans who thought McCain/Palin was a good idea are setting us up for Romney/Bachmann.

Expect Romney, unlike McCain, has no more a chance of winning the nomination than Rudy Giuliani did. He is far too liberal on far too many issues. He will be destroyed in Iowa and that will be the end of him.

Perry is no more a RINO than Reagan was.

By your definition of RINO, all Republicans expect Sarah Palin are RINOs.

Did you hear the interview with her husband where he is calling gay’s “barbarians”?

Yes, it was wonderful to hear someone standing up for the truth and not cowering in a corner accepting the politically correct nonsense on the subject.

Independents care about the economy, not about a candidate's husband's opinion on homosexuality.

So MSM Push polling for Bachmann

Right, the polls are rigged for Bachmann, who the media is relentlessly attacking, but right when they show even the slightest bit good news of Palin.

Okay, he is nothing like Richard Simmons. Fine.

Listen to the tape and then tell us which lisping personalities he is like and then rate them on a Richard Simmons scale.

Rate Marcus Bachmann's lisp on a Richard Simmons Scale ... More Than? ... Less Than? .... Equal to?

Marcus Bachmann has an effeminate voice, he lisps and he spends his time with gay men, listening to their gay life experiences, so that he can "cure" them. ..... With prayer.

Okaaaaay.

He is an extremely easy target for ridicule ... as easy as it gets.

And, he is right. Homosexual males are spreading STDs and HIV like wildfire.

That is not the point. The point is that Todd Palin might be able to get away with saying that.

< Todd Palin Voice> "Hi, I'm Todd Palin. I have a manly voice, I look manly, I engage in manly activities and I think homosexual males are spreading STDs and HIV like wildfire." < / Todd Palin Voice>

Marcus Bachmann definitely cannot get away with saying that.

< Marcus Bachmann Voice> "Hi, I'm Marcus Bachmann. I have an effeminate voice, I look effeminate, I lisp, I spend my days talking to gay men about their gay activities and I think homosexual males are spreading STDs and HIV like wildfire." < / Marcus Bachmann Voice>

Fair or unfair, I can guarantee you that that will end up in a Saturday Night Live skit that will not be a "talking point". It will be the Monday morning laugh at the water cooler and the running joke for the entire 2012 Presidential campaign everywhere from the San Francisco Castro district to the most macho, heterosexual fire house in the FDNY.

If you're going to attack Bachmann, stop using the most ridiculous leftist talking points.

You want another reason why Bachmann would be a disastrous candidate?

***** She is brand new in Congress and has ZERO executive experience. America is not making that One Big Ass Mistake Again.

"But Obama has ZERO experience too!"

No. Come Election Day 2012, Obama will have had almost 4 years of executive experience.

You want another reason why Bachmann would be a disastrous candidate?

***** The majority of America will not vote into the White House a candidate that they see as a religious nutjob that believes that God wants her to be subservient to her husband, because God talks to her through her lisping husband.

America will trust a Margaret Thatcher type of woman to have her finger on the Nuclear Button but the majority of America will NOT trust a subservient Stepford Wife to have her finger on the Nuclear Button.

=======================

Bachmann: "God called me to run for Congress"

{ In this speech at a mega-church in the Minneapolis area back in 2006, Michele Bachmann explained her decision to pursue tax law wasn't her choice. Her husband, Marcus told her "to go and get a post-doctorate degree in tax law." This was not what Michele wanted. ("Tax law? I hate taxes!"), but she was believed that God was speaking through her husband. "Why should I go and do something like that? But the Lord says, 'Be submissive wives; you are to be submissive to your husbands.” }

Amazingly, you're using the same tactics against Marcus Bachmann, who isn't running for anything, that are being used against Rick Perry -- accusations that he is gay.

Do you think those accusations against Perry make him unelectable, too? After all, you are assuming that any ridiculous allegation the left makes is going to scare away potential voters and they are ready to pounce with the Perry-is-gay rumor.

If we must conclude that because the left demands it, must we not conclude the same thing about Perry based on rumors spread by the left and demand he not run?

http://www.examiner.com/democrat-in-national/is-rick-perry-gay-rumors-haunt-potential-presidential-bid

Noted investigative blogger Mike Stark reports:

I began looking into this, I repeatedly heard detailed rumors of a past gay relationship between the Governor and his former Secretary of State, Geoff Connor. A version of this story included Perry’s wife, Anita, catching Connor and Perry in the act and screaming at him the next day from her office phone. The most common retelling has it that the Governor was caught, struck a quick (and expensive) deal with his wife that allowed him to avoid an immediate trip to divorce court, and swore everyone involved to secrecy.

I also learned of a new rumor making the rounds. Several sources told me they had heard that the Governor is in a current gay relationship with one of the two (male) chefs that Perry he keeps on staff at the tax-payer funded ($10,000 a month) temporary governor’s mansion.
