First of all, Lindsay is full of crap - the dollar amount he cites almost certainly includes home mortgage interest deductions. What else is there to itemize? Medical expenses that exceed 10% of AGI, casualty and theft losses, and state and local taxes (to avoid such income being double- or triple-taxed). If Congress disallowed the deductibility of state and local taxes, working people in high-tax states would be crushed, and those states' economies damaged further.

But more to the point, he refers to : "... $1.2 trillion that's spent every year.” SPENT???? By whom, Lindsay? It's not your money, jackass!!!!!

” Apparently, both the standard deduction and personal exemption are “loopholes.”

LOL!

Medicare and social security aren’t at issue here. But the GOP is certainly playing into Obama’s hands if they pretend that they are.

If loopholes, excepting mortgage and charitable deductions, are done away with, I’m okay with that

I'm not ok with my state taxes getting taxed again at the Federal level.

But I think that's the large pot of money he's going after.

Think of all those wealthy folks paying 7,8,even 10% in state and local taxes in NY, CA, and so on. The amount of taxable income jumps 7, 8, or even 10% when this kicks in.

Sometimes one must sit back and ask oneself; “What exactly IS IT that makes me a Republican?” What do I belileve?” And if those beliefs no longer line up with a majority of G.O.P. beliefs, you need to leave the party.

You see Lizzy, a political movement is like a millipede. For the millipede to move, all of the legs have to work together. You know what you are Lizzy? You are a busted leg.

(With apologies to Stewie Griffin.)

Graham has bent over and taken it from the RATS so many times that he’s come to enjoy it.

Fool.

There’s no doubt. Said it before, but there is no other explanation for the ease at which the GOP turns to the Dem position. Sure, they put on a show for a while, but in the end it’s always the same.

Any investigative journalists wanting a Pulitzer could easily get one. Except they are mostly Lefties themselves and nailing a GOP closet case would hurt their interests.

We have to get rid of them. There is NOTHING on the planet more or easier blackmailable than a Homosexual GOP politician still in the closet. NOTHING.

The only “hike” I want Goober to take is a “hike” out of Congress.

He’s worse than sour milk.

Not to forget Hugh Hewitt, who was a big Lamar! booster.

One thing consistent with Medved and Hewitt is that you can count on them to be trashing conservatives and pushing GOP rinos and hacks.

Reagan raised taxes, but he lowered the tax rates dramatically. That’s because he did away with interest rate deductions, and the like.

If tax rates are lowered dramatically, all is well.

But, I don’t see that as being Barry’s objective.

Graham is a progressive. the puppet master of the progressives just yanked Graham's string and hollered, new marching orders, come out supporting tax increases, do it now.

From the start they should have outflanked Obama with an all out war on Obamacare and the hated job killing government agencies.

I keep telling people that Howard Raines warned us before the election in 2008, that Boehner was going to take a dive on Obamacare, because the Fortune 500/Business Roundtable bunch want it -- so they can dump off their private healthcare premiums and turn that money to pure profit. (They think.)

Boehner's taking a dive. He changed the subject at the beginning of the year to budget-balancing, and jerked up his committee chairs who didn't get on the team. He also stiffed Michele Bachmann, Mrs. Tea Party in the House, and denied her a leadership position AFTER the Tea Party folks handed him the Speaker's gavel.

He's taking the whole country over the Obamacare cliff, because that's what the Masters of the Universe want.

Anybody think not?

Graham is letting his loyalty show in his choice of language -- Teddy Kennedy used to call "tax expenditures" anything the IRS let you keep. All deductions, exemptions, and credits were "tax expenditures" in Teddy-Lingo.
