I like Michele Bachmann. Aside from Palin, she is my favorite Tea Party candidate. I would have probably supported her if Palin doesn't run.

But putting Ed Rollins in charge of her campaign is a non-starter for me.

Rollins is a dark, slimy, sinister character who is not to be trusted. He was Perot's campaign manager nineteen years ago, but was really working for the Republican Establishment. As everyone who was on Free Republic -- the main web site for Perot supporters back then -- knows, Rollins stabbed Perot and his third party movement in the back.

Rollins is absolutely the wrong person for a Tea Party movement. He is working for the Republican establishment.

I don't know what Bachmann is thinking. She could lose the support of the Tea Party because of Rollins.

I did not know that. I would be very interested is seeing the proof for that charge.

Uh, you might also want to fact check FReepers support for Perot. There's a little problem in the time line.

Political strategists are notoriously sleazy but if Sarah Palin assembled the same team, I guarantee that they would achieve sainthood with astounding speed.

I’d have to ask the pre FReepers about their support of Perot. LOL

You don't say!!? Of course, when and if she gets in, she will need no steenkin' "team." She will simply speak and the nation will follow.

[if Sarah Palin assembled the same team, I guarantee that they would achieve sainthood with astounding speed.]

Well she hasn’t assembled that kind of team, that’s why the trust factor is with Palin where it isn’t with Bachmann.

Don’t know why only Rollins is mentioned by the OP since that’s old news, so here’s the whole list.

Bachmann for President Announces Senior Members of Campaign Team

July 14, 2011

Washington, D.C. ? Republican presidential candidate Michele Bachmann announced today the senior advisors of her campaign team who will help execute her message of limited government and fiscal conservatism. The level of experience brought by these presidential campaign veterans has helped Bachmann surge to the top of the polls since her official announcement on June 13, 2011 and Bachmann is confident her team will be instrumental in continuing to grow the momentum in the year to come.

?I?m thrilled to have some of the most highly respected and seasoned professionals in the political field on my team; each of them comes with valuable experience in national politics that is critical in a presidential campaign,? Bachmann said. ?Having just entered the race, this team has helped put us in a great position to deliver my message of constitutional conservatism, which will enable us to put on a strong campaign in Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and across the country.?

Key members of the Bachmann for President campaign include:

Ed Rollins ? Campaign Manager - Ed is a veteran campaign consultant and advisor who has worked on several high-profile political campaigns. David is a Marine Corps veteran having served with Texas? ?Lone Star Battalion? in Al-Anbar, Iraq in 2004-2005.

Ed Goeas ? Pollster / Strategist ? Ed is President and CEO of The Tarrance Group, one of the most respected and successful Republican survey research and strategy teams in American politics today. Brett O?Donnell ? Senior Policy Advisor - Brett is President of O?Donnell and Associates and served as the Director of Messaging for the McCain-Palin presidential campaign overseeing the implementation of the McCain message, particularly in debates and speeches. He also served on the debate preparation team for the Bush-Cheney 2004 presidential campaign and has consulted on numerous United States Senate and gubernatorial races.

Alice Stewart ? Press Secretary / Spokeswoman ? Alice is a veteran of the 2008 presidential election cycle, serving as National Press Secretary for former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. Actually the reason you never hear about some of the sleazy people who have worked for Sarah Palin is due to the cowardice of some of her supporters.

If Michelle Bachmann had a Soros lackey on her campaign you can bet it would be an issue but oddly enough it wasn’t with Palin.

"She could lose the support of the Tea Party because of Rollins."

Rollins' strengths will drive a wedge between Bachmann and the TP.

Based on a quick read of the former allegiances of this group this looks like it could be a recipe for dysfunctional disaster.

Randy Scheunemann was a fundraiser for Sarah Palin and an advisor for the Open Society institute.

I knew about it back then but was adult enough to understand it to be a political partnership and nothing more.

ALL candidates have flaws.
