I’m just vetting the candidates. If the first spouse acts like a flaming homosexual, it’s not good. People don’t want the first spouse to act like a flaming homosexual. And apparently he does. And that’s very bad for Michele. Showing a picture of the guy and putting a tape of him talking is not looking through 24,000 emails. It’s a glance at the potential first spouse. And add in the fact that his job was curing gays with prayer, and you just have a hilarious hilarious story. The media really dug and dug and dug. Michele’s own wikipedia page has funny stuff on it. If anyone wanted to just take a close look at her resume, especially pre 2000, you will not see anything good.

In terms of Palin, I have no idea if Todd had a full time job. Does that matter? Would that be a good thing? Since 2008 he definitely hasn’t needed a job. Could probably live on a Governor’s salary. I bet feminists would like that, husband stays home, takes care of the kids. I know dog sled races, and fishing. and maybe oil or mining? And I don’t really care how long he did that for. If I was doing that, I’d think I’d quit as soon as I could. It’s a solid solid extremely normal and good resume there. Even the bad stuff is often a wonderful story.

Obama’s married to a black-supremacist Marx-spouting wookie and attended a congregation where the minister spouted “God Damn America” on more than one occasion. He had all the marble blocks in the Whitehouse replaced with glass panels the day he moved in.

So no, I don’t think the Lutheran faith or praying the gay away will decide the general election. Maybe important to the nomination process if the media can make a big enough deal of them, but meaningless come next November. Social issues are way down the list for independents. Being air-tight on fiscal issues, and being able to focus attention on Obama’s record are key.

That’s how Obama got in. He could run against Bush’s public political record, and didn’t have one of his own to mine for ammo. Nobody gave a damn about his religious affiliation, citizenship status, or marxist connections because HE WASN’T BUSH, and that’s really all most people cared about. No history is better than bad history in today’s political landscape. That’s why I wouldn’t bank on someone like Perry being electable, whereas I think Bachmann or even Palin actually have a shot.
