German government to subsidize sale of sixth submarine for Israel

Berlin, July 17, IRNA -- German tax payers are to foot part of the bill for the highly controversial sale of a sixth submarine to Israel, the Hamburg-based news magazine Der Spiegel said in a report on Sunday. German government to subsidize sale of sixth submarine for Israel The German government is to allocate 135 million euros from next year's defense budget to pay for the Dolphin-class submarine, estimated to cost aroud 500 million euros.

The deal was apparently sealed during the latest Israel visit of German Defense Minister Thomas de Maziere.

Germany is already paying one-third of the one billion euro price tag for the fourth and fifth Dolphin submarine which are currently still being built for Israel.

Berlin subsidized also the first three submarines which it delivered to Israel in 1999 and 2000, having paid around 550 million euros (1.1 million D-Mark).

Germany has played a major role in arming the Israeli navy over the past 12 years.

The German government has kept silent on its military deals with the Zionist regime, refusing to reveal any details of the contract.

A hardline supporter of Israel, Germany, has become a major arms supplier of the illegal Jewish state despite a constitutional ban to send arms to crisis regions.

There are no official statistics available on the sale of German weapons to Israel as almost all arms exports to the Zionist regime are shrouded in extreme secrecy.

German arms deliveries to Israel between 1998 and 2001 reached reportedly around 900 million US dollars.

If I were al-Queda, I would view this as a targeting memo.

“So who do we (al-Queda) bomb next?”

With 6 total they can keep 2 at sea at all times and can surge to 4 or 5 in national emergency.

With their sophisticated nukes and missiles, they have a real deterrent.

Whomever decides to nuke Israel will lose their 5 largest cities...completely. A dozen targets destroyed is not out of the question.

Yes, they use only LACMs instead of SLBMs, but their enemies are within range.

Insane Muslims planning to attack Israel have no idea what will really happen. Israel’s Navy — including its submarine force — is the best non-nuclear navy in the world. The subs and ships can carry nuclear cruise missiles that would vaporize most of the Arab world if the Arabs were about to overrun Israel. Of course, Israel would then be condemned for cutting-off Middeleast oil, but that’s another topic. Were Obama to order US forces to attack Israel, I believe they would refuse. Thus such a war would also end Obama’s abuse of the White House.

The German-built “Dolphin” boats are armed with the Israeli Popeye Turbo submarine launched cruise missile. Popeye Turbo carries either a conventional or nuclear warhead (similar to the USN Tomahawk). In 2000 tests over the Indian Ocean, Popeye Turbo flew 1,500 km (930 miles) carrying a 200 kg simulated warhead. All Dolphin boats are Popeye Turbo capable.

The Muslims should be very worried because none of Israel's potential enemies — Syria or Iran or potentially Egypt — have minimal ASW capability and virtually no defense against cruise missiles. They will get the first indication they're under attack when the first missile detonates with considerable effect.

The information is actually from DER SPIEGEL Online, a leading (print) news magazine and probably Germany's no. 1 online news outlet, so it isn't just Iranian propaganda.

The article in the original german: http://www.spiegel.de/politik/deutschland/0,1518,774904,00.html

For those few not fluent in German, check out the GOOGLE TRANSLATION

is this also in the original German language article?

Sorry, misleading wording on my part... of course not. The “zionist regime” BS is purely Iranian propaganda, the fact that Germany is subsidizing Israeli weapons is apparently true... they didn’t make that part up. Therefore the link to DER SPIEGEL.
