Rep. West: Obama is ‘Sad,’ ‘Pathetic,’ ‘Fear-Mongering’ on Debt Ceiling

Rep. Allen West calls President Barack Obama’s actions on the debt ceiling debate “sad”, “pathetic” and “fear-mongering”.

In an interview with CNSNews.com, West was asked about his recent comments that the president was fear-mongering when using the issue of Social Security payments in the debt ceiling debate.

“To come out and just say, we’re not going to – I don’t think we’re going to be able pay seniors, I don’t think were going to be able to pay veterans that’s not leadership. That’s why I said it was sad, it was pathetic, it’s fear-mongering and it’s trying to turn people against other folks who are trying to come up with viable solutions. That’s not what I think a president should be doing,” West said.

West claims the president needs to decide how to best prioritize the programs that he wants to see funded in the country, “I think the thing that the president needs to do, is sit down and say. With the revenues that we have coming in, with the revenues that we have existing in the Social Security trust fund right now. You know, what are we going to prioritize as far as spending here in the United States of America."

Funny, you would think the south Florida “news” stations would at least cover the comments by Mr. West or Mr. Rubio...but instead, today I noticed a bunch of dribble about some hacking scandal in EUROPE.

I hope all Florida freepers in Rep. West's district notify the stone-walling stations of your displeasure whenever necessary. Otherwise, what good is it to complain to the choir here? What good does it do to shake your head while posting and then move on to another thread?

Stations WILL sometimes respond to public pressure if there's enough of it.

Consider the task of contacting and complaining to be a Freep. This is what we're here for, right?

Ultimately President Obama decides which activities to shutdown to ensure the debt ceiling is not exceeded. To date we hear predictions that our troops will not receive paychecks and their families will do without their allotments. Social Security recipients will not receive their checks and Medicare/Medicaid payments must be suspended. The federal government continues to receive billions of dollars in tax payments each day, so the President decides on vital and non-essential payments. Those noted above seem to be unimportant except that elimination pushes his agenda.

Evidently some payments command priorities excluding them from review. The President and Vice-President will receive their paychecks. Obama will ensure his appointed secretaries and assistants secretaries and their staffs will continue to receive paychecks. His czars and their staffs will continue to receive their paychecks. The generals and admirals will evidently receive theirs. If this were not so, wouldn’t we see banner headlines about Administration leadership in this time of dire economic circumstance?

And let’s not forget Congress. Where is the resolution demanding suspension of their pay if the debt ceiling is reached?

Those who regard this situation as more than political theater possess the opportunity to assert genuine concern for our country’s welfare by the symbol of suspending personal benefits.

I was thinking the same thing! Wonder if “She-whose-head-braids-are-wrapped-too-tight” will call out a brotha?! Can a black man be racist against another black man? Just asking.

If they thought West was any kind of threat, they would just tag him as an Oreo and an Uncle Tom.
