I will tell you a very scary anecdote. I live in a very scenic and rural part of NJ (Yes, they exist). However, my job and taking my kid to swim meets requires me to travel throughout the state on a fairly regular basis. NJ has to be one of the densest and most congested state in the union. 5 years ago, traffic was a nightmare no matter when or where you went. Now, you can go through the densest part of the state during morning rush hour and it seems like a Sunday afternoon. It’s really bad. Hasn’t hit me yet but I know it’s coming.

I am in NJ & I don't see that. I moved from Brick to South NJ to get away from traffic & have a small farm for my horses & a huge garden( next yr). I thought I was moving on a slow road but it is horrible. There is traffic all day & night & nobody does the 35 miles. Brick/Toms River area was worse. Got so bad I didn't want to even go near the shopping centers. Down here no malls are closing but the very old ones. There is more shopping & places to eat then I have time to check out. I am not into that anyway but I thought I was moving to rural & it is to a point but down the road there is everything you could want.
