Mitt Romney: Carbon not a health threat

Mitt Romney says he doesn’t think carbon pollution threatens human health and would not green light EPA climate regulations if he were in the White House.
The GOP presidential candidate signaled the reversal to one of the Obama administration's top environmental policies during a town hall meeting Thursday in Derry, N.H. This came about six weeks after he acknowledged during a campaign stop that global warming is real, a statement that won him praise from Al Gore.
"I think we may have made a mistake," Romney said Thursday in response to a voter's question about EPA regulating air pollution from coal plants under the Clean Air Act. "We have made a mistake is what I believe, in saying that the EPA should regulate carbon emissions. I don’t think that was the intent of the original legislation, and I don’t think carbon is a pollutant in the sense of harming our bodies."
Following up on a 2007 ruling by the Supreme Court, the Obama administration early in its term issued an endangerment finding that declared carbon dioxide emissions a threat to public health and welfare. Under the Clean Air Act, that decision paves the way for climate-themed rules on power plants, petroleum refiners and other major industrial sources.
House Republicans have been trying without success to repeal the EPA decision. Now they appear to be getting help from one of their leading White House candidates.
"My view is that the EPA in getting into carbon and regulating carbon has gone beyond the original intent of that legislation, and I would not take it there," Romney said Thursday. "But I do believe in making sure that we reduce the pollutants that harm our health."

If any of you were at Loudon NH speedway this past weekend when Romney was speaking, the crowd response was almost a riot in favor of him by tens of thousands. Made me cringe.
If the global governance lefties were really “green”, they would promote CO2 emissions. Plants need it to grow. And there is ZERO evidence that CO2 levels anywhere near as low as we have today can alter global temps.
