Israel's only two options
Jewish World Review ^ | 7/19/2011 | Caroline B. Glick

Fatah leader Mahmoud Abbas is in Europe this week seeking to convince the Spanish and Norwegian governments to support the Palestinian bid to sidestep negotiations with Israel and have the UN General Assembly recognize Palestinian sovereignty over Judea, Samaria and Jerusalem in addition to Gaza.

The Palestinians know that without US support, their initiative will fail to gain Security Council support and therefore have no legal weight. But they believe that if they push hard enough, Israel's control over these areas will eventually unravel and they will gain control over them without ever accepting Israel's right to exist.

Fatah's UN gambit, along with its unity deal with Hamas, makes clear that the time has come for Israel to finally face the facts: There are only two realistic options for dealing with Judea and Samaria.

Either the Palestinians will take control of Judea and Samaria, or Israel will annex them.

Right on, Caroline! I wish she would run for office in Israel. I think she's the Ann Coulter of the Middle East.

Glick is wonderful.
but “The Palestinians know that without US support, their initiative will fail “ ?

I wouldn’t bet on Obama to not at least abstain.
“I will stand with the Muslims should the political winds shift in an ugly direction,”

and i understand there is another way to do it in the U.N. in Sept, sidestepping the S.C.

but either of the two options, puts Israel in more peril.
(and by Oct, the M.B. will control Egypt, and it’s 1,000 M-1’s. With Obama promising another 125.)

The “Palestinians” (the Muslims) aren’t going to do one whit more to Israel than the God of Abraham, Isaac & Jacob allows them to do. UN or no UN. Obama or no Obama.

You're right! However, there's a time coming when things will get really bad for Israel. I'm talking about the Time of Jacob's Trouble, and I think that this is all setting the stage for it. But you are right, Israel will NOT be destroyed, God promised that!

If we believe those days are coming, it's time to get out of our comfort zone and preach the gospel to all peoples. The Master is coming and will settle all accounts.

We must be “wise as serpents; harmless as doves”. If I recall my Bible correctly, the Antichrist is supposed to come on the scene before the day of the Lord. So, we must be aware of the times and the Scriptures; study the Scriptures, rightly dividing the word of truth. The 24th Chapter of Matthew is a good passage to study on the return of Christ, with warnings - informing us that His return will be like the lightning flashing from the east to the west, and sudden with us being caught up to meet Him in the air.
