The Senate on Monday night confirmed for the first time ever an openly gay male to serve on the federal bench.

J. Paul Oetken, whom President Obama nominated in January, was voted in, 80 to 13, by the Senate to sit on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.

“As the first openly gay man to be confirmed as a federal judge and to serve on the federal bench, he will be a symbol of how much we have achieved as a country in just the last few decades,” New York Democrat Sen. Chuck Schumer said on the Senate floor on Monday

More evidence of the uselessness of the Rs in DC.

Gee, I wonder how the sodomite will rule on “sodomite marriage” and other matters dear to sodomites’ hearts?

Is Schumer gay? Why doesn’t he just come out of the closet?

For being a very small and weird percentage of the population they’ve done an amazing job of promoting themselves - of course with invaluable help from the left.

"Moreover, a majority of the Senate Republican caucus -- 28 members -- voted to approve the nomination, with 13 Republicans opposing the nomination and six members not voting." - Article

That's terrible. More than 2 out of 3 Republicans voted for this open pervert. And all of the democrats except one who pulled an Obama and didn't vote.

Yes! Destroying the moral underpinnings of the American society is one of the prominent features in the Marxist playbook.

These days and in this political environment, I wouldn’t be surprised if being “gay” weren’t a requirement for a federal judge?

The normalization is everywhere. I watched White Collar for the very last time last night because they decided to be an agenda program and I refuse to be agenda-ized. The series, which usually has good writing, just threw away the main characters and featured a woman agent in the office and, completely irrelevant to the story line, made her a lesbian with many smoochie scenes with her girl pal. They made it all so very normal and the writing suffered from it. I don’t like things like that thrown in for no reason whatsoever and I will never be watching it again.

However, there is possibly an up side to all of this normalizing of alternate lifestyles in that eventually there will be NOTHING left to blackmail the GOP with since we shrug off nearly every behaviour, even tax evasion. Finally, when they can’t be threatened with being “outed” maybe, maybe they will vote for the right things. Trying to find the pony???

It was all that long ago that Homosexuality was considered a mental disorder and would prevent you from getting a security clearance or even being considered for a federal appointment. It's amazing what a few years worth of promotion by Hollywood and the MSM will do to turn a mental disorder into a lifestyle choice to be celebrated. I'm just wondering what they are going to “normalize” when they are finished with homosexuality? Pedophilia? Bestiality?
