Gov't advisers: No copays for contraceptives

WASHINGTON – Millions of women stand to gain free access to a broad menu of birth control methods, thanks to a recommendation issued Tuesday by health experts advising the government.

An Institute of Medicine panel recommended that the government require health insurance companies to cover birth control for women as preventive care, without copayments. Contraception — along with such care as diabetes tests during pregnancy and screening for the virus that causes cervical cancer — was one of eight recommended preventive services for women.

"Unintended pregnancies carry health consequences for the mother — psychological, emotional and physical — and also consequences for the newborn," said Dr. Linda Rosenstock, panel chairwoman and dean of public health at the University of California, Los Angeles. "The overwhelming evidence was strongly supportive of the health benefit" of contraception.

A half century after the introduction of the birth control pill, the panel's recommendations may help to usher in another revolution. Medical experts say easier access could start a shift to more reliable forms of long-acting birth control, such as implants or IUDs, which are gaining acceptance in other economically developed countries.

So, in other words, these advisers really want us to commit auto-genocide.

I wonder when they will suggest putting hormones in the water to restrict fertilization? Oh, never mind.

The evil agenda of population reduction is gaining speed, and taxpayers will be forced to fund it. Note that the aim is also to have long term contraception "accepted" by poor countries - IUDs which are extremely dangerous and can render women permanently infertile, or even kill them - and implants, which although I have not read about them, don't seem as though they are without risks. IUDs are also abortifacients. What people should be wondering is WHY do these globalists hate human beings? Why do they want to eradicate so much of the population? Speed the exit of the elderly and infirm, kill the ones about to get born, and lock the door to conception. Anyone who hates Life hates the Author of Life. There is no doubt about it.

Contraceptives do NOT prevent venereal diseases. There's no preventive care in contraceptives.

Haven't you heard? Pregnancy is a disease. It can either be prevented...or it can be corrected. (if I need to say it, /sarc)

Now that you got your two minutes hate at homosexuals over with, why don’t you read the list of items for “no copays” and other “free” services for whoring, irresponsible women that YOU will pay for under Obamacare!

And the next logical step is government funded abortion.

Have a nice day. :)

You know, this might a government program I could support..

Think for a moment just who’s “on the government dole”. Do we really want “them” to reproduce prolifically ?

Middle classes tend to mangage their family size according to their economic means, i.e. their economic ability to give their kids a good start in life. >PS

Because a population that reaches critical mass will have more power than the world government. It's easier to control a population of 500 million than it is 10 billion.
When a population reaches or surpasses critical mass, THEY become the masters and the governments once again become the public servants. Those in power are trying to stop the numbers from getting high enough to do that. They like being the masters.

not necessarily hatred for homosexuals, rather I was pointing out the injustices they get from the government they overwhelmingly vote for.

I wish gays or nuns or whoever could opt out of paying for birth-control for other people.

The Institute of Medicine is OWNED and OPERATED by the drug companies that MAKE and SELL the contraceptives. Wake up America!

The thing is that those on the dole could have always gotten contraception of some kind if they really wanted it. There are low and no cost programs widely available.

I have a novel idea.....

How about, if you don’t want to have a baby, then DON’T HAVE SEX?!?!?! 100% effective, and absolutely FREE!

Do they care about actual health? Oral artificial hormones are not healthy for women and girls. I realize sometimes they are useful for some people, but this is NOT for health for anyone, and since woman can get pregnant while taking them, especially if they mess up, these hormones are not good for babies either.

This is a stupid thing to push.
