Joe

The posted speed is 70. I routinely set my speed at 78 with no problems from the troopers.

Good to hear that. My parents are in PA, so when I’d go home or return from leave, it was 1,100 miles or so across I-70. On my return trips, I always seemed to hit KS at about 11:00 or 12:00 at night. I was a young hot-shot lieutenant and had a ‘92 Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX Turbo. I’d push upwards of 90 or so if the road was wide open, and never got a ticket.

Coming back from Vegas to L.A. I set the Cruise Control on my 2011 V-6 305 HP Mustang to 75 MPH. Hit a little traffic, but I still got 34.95 MPG.

I like to drive 75, with apologies to Sammy Hagar.

"Over 9, pay the fine". I can't speak for all jurisdictions, but when I was a young man working in a car wash, we washed the police cars of a few nearby communities. It was routine for them to set their radar for 10 over the limit or more. Based on my driving experience, that is still generally true, though there are likely exceptions.
