I agree. You hardly ever see kids outside playing anymore.

We don't want another weak, sad, generation of euro-esque metro children.

at least euro kids have to walk to the metro or bus stop... try getting an american kid to walk a block ...

I drive or walk around my Ward on Saturdays. The two parks are empty. When I was a kid if you didn’t get to Devir Park by 9 o’clock with baseball glove on handle bars and bat under your arm you sat out until someone had to go home. And if any perv tried to touch us the fury of 18 little baseball bats would have come upon him and Officer Butch would take him to the city line and toss him.

Not long ago, a woman who had lived a long life--she was in her 90's or 100's--was asked to describe the biggest change she had seen in her lifetime. And no, it was not space exploration, jet travel, or the Internet--it was the fact that children today are rarely seen outdoors.
