As I told you in my first post to you, Palin can do what she thinks is right for Alaska as Governor of Alaska. That is how the Founding Fathers planned it. If she brings such nonsense to Washington I am sure all the Republicans in the Senate will join with all the Democrats in passing such a bill.

I just like to point out the obvious to St.Sarah's followers who jump on Rick Perry threads to bash him.

Bottom line, she was a 2 1/2 year governor who taxed the oil companies but didn't tax logging or fishing industries and used the Alaska Constitution as cover. Palin is great at rallying the base and even getting Tea Party House members elected. That's a good job for her until Perry wins the election and he can then appoint her to the Dept. of the Interior or Ambassador to the U.N.

Every Alaska governor since TAPS started pumping oil in 1977 has taxed the oil companies. Frank Murkowski put in a net-revenue tax (PPT) before Palin did. Problem is, his secret deal cratered Alaska oil revenues, put the state on the path to bankruptcy, stopped new oil exploration in its tracks and put corrupt Republican politicians in jail.

Sarah Palin came in and cleaned up the mess with a bipartisan plan negotiated in broad daylight. The base rate went from 22.5% under Murkowski to 25% under Palin's plan. The deal killed the backroom kickbacks, put a floor of 10% on the tax when prices were low so the oil companies didn't get killed, graduated the rates as prices escalated similar to production sharing agreements all over the world, provided substantial tax incentives for new oil exploration, and allowed Alaskans to share in the good times from the oil that belonged to them while still allowing the oil companies to clean up, profit-wise.

Oil companies are swimming in profits from Alaskan oil operations. ConocoPhillips -- which breaks out their profits from Alaskan operations -- routinely reports profits from Alaskan oil operations far in excess of profits from other places. In 1Q 2009 with the Palin plan fully in place, for instance, they reported 29% of their worldwide profits came from Alaska, which was 12% of their production.

I just hope Gov. Palin gets a chance to work for me like that in DC. I guarantee you I'll be better off. The GOP's "good friends" on K Street will think it sucks, I'm sure, but they would LOVE Rick Perry. He's Haley Barbour's fair-haired boy after all.

I still doubt he runs. No 'fire in the belly'. He looks to me like Fred Thompson with really good hair.

Anyone who thinks a vaccine can stop cancer of the uterus also believes in fairy tales. However, Fairy Tales usually contained a good moral. Gardisil will, no doubt, prove to be snake oil. I would not chose to give it to my daughters.

So, how much did Merck contribute to Perry’s campaign in return for his rash move?
