Switzerland might have some merit. It’s probably as free as the US (it’s still pretty socialist...just being in Europe does that), but, if you are going to be sorta free/partly socialist, might as well have some scenery. And if the US becomes MORE socialist than Switzerland, then, that would be a strong argument (ie, if Obama is re-elected).

With regards to Asia, I’m skeptical. Maybe Hong Kong or Taiwan a while back, but I’m not so sure now. Maybe Singapore? Maybe...but man, not much real estate there.

I think you have hit on (literally) the ONLY choices available out there in the world. And each of those have real drawbacks, and the US still has some real advantages over them. Plus, if you are a Christian, none of those Asian countries, nor Switzerland, have exactly a thriving Christian church (depending on where you are thinking about leaving the US from).

So....seems to me the best freedom-loving bet is to stick it out here in the US....

I really hope you are right.

But remember, you are talking about a convinced Marxist who would name himself President for Life if he could (his party would support it, no doubt in my mind) and, if he wins again, I would not put it past him to try to Sovietize the whole country, therefore accomplishing two life goals: 1)”punishing” a “neocolonialist” country for all the ills, real and imagined, ever caused by “imperialism”(Read D’Souza’s book) and 2)Reviving the Soviet system right here in the USA. I would bet dollars to doughnut holes that Obama wept the day the USSR went kaput in 1991. I saw a couple lefties do that with my own eyes and they were slow motion socialists compared to Obama.

You can convince yourself that politics as usual will solve the problem. You need to seriously think about the twisted ideological nature of the modern Democrat Party and its high priest, Barack Hussein Obama.

You feel that the USA represents freedom’s last hope. To O’Bummer and the ‘rats, it represents the last, best hope for Stalinist socialism.

Socialism is a wonderful thing, you know-—it just has to be done “right” (no pun) by the “best and the brightest.”

Exactly. You almost wish Obama and the left completely destroy the economy so these billionaires go broke.

Bet they’ll live with Palin then.

I live in NJ and held my nose and voted for this Lou Costello look-a-like only because I didn’t want Corzine to get a second term. F Christie, he’s a RINO.

Several of them said: I’m Republican but I voted for President Obama, because I couldn’t live with Sarah Palin.

Obama wasn't running against Sarah Palin, he was running against McCain. I guess they put that out there to scare Sarah off from running, since she figures she wouldn't be able to count on getting any of their money.

Sarah Palin didn’t quit just to start running for another office. Now she might end up running for President in 2012, but that’s not why she quit her Governorship.
