The Norway Terrorist is a conservative sci-fi fan.

The shooter is now here in Norway now.

https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100002651290254

That's his facebook page. He is a conservative sci-fi fan.Battle Star Galactica and Stargate.

He likes hunting. Hence why he has at least two legally owned guns. It is not hard to get a gun in Norway. We have gun ownership rates close to the US and Switzerland. Personally I am starting to think we need more damn gun control. For Norway that is, not the US.

I a currently reading through posts he has made at various political forums. He would fit in here at free republic. I agree with most of what he says so far. Here he would be a moderate. One of his favourite authors is John Stuart Mill.

He recently started a firm growing vegetables. Allowing him to buy large quantities of fertilizer.

He opened up twitter and facebook accounts just recently and quoted John Stuart Mill:

"One person with a belief is equal to a force of 99 who have only interests."

Well, Anders..... You have just set back everything you claimed to believe in.

Rot in hell. Do rot in hell.

Euro.

Conservatives will admit they were wrong with their initial assessment. The M.O. fit the Muzzie terrorist one perfectly. Plus there was recent history and current events in Norway:

Chinese Separatists Tied to Norway Bomb Plot
(Muslim Uighurs)(from 2010)
http://www.nytimes.com/2010/07/10/world/asia/10uighur.html

Norway charges radical cleric with terror for death threats against politicians
(from earlier this month)
http://ca.news.yahoo.com/norway-charges-radical-cleric-terror-death-threats-against-122551225.html

So given that, plus the match-up in M.O., why would people NOT immediately think “Muslim terrorist”?

Eating crow is for people who, say, stuck with the “crazy TEA Partyers” narrative about the Loughner long after it was obvious he was about half Lefty and half nutcase.

Got a good one for you.

Many years ago, my late father bought a van from a “born-again” fellow. Everything was just hunky-dory. It did drive good, no doubt about it. After five days, the van turned out to be a steaming POS. My dad got it all fixed (a good shadetree mechanic, my dad was), but only after much profanity and grumbling.

After that, several years later, he went to buy a car from a fellow in Portland, Oregon. Guy comes out with a turban, long beard, in other words, like he just stepped off the plane from Mecca. I was with my dad, and he just looked at me like, oh crap.

So, when my dad asked this man, “So, is there anything wrong with the car? Looks good, but.....” this man replied, “Yes, the oil leaks, about 1 quart a month, and I believe that somethings wrong with the fuel injection system. Oh, and the starter’s kind of funny.” Sure enough, what he said was all true, and he came down on the price $200. Nice thing was, what he described as wrong with car really was ALL that was wrong with car.

As they say, you can’t judge a book by its cover. Or beard, turban, and robes.

I certainly distinguish between mainstream conservative Norwegians and Ultra Nationalists. I also believe that certain Ultra Nationlists are not big fans of Christianity because it is foreign. The Nordic Purity espoused by some Ultra Nationalists is more along the lines of Nazism then the conservative party’s stance against unfettered immigration.

My point is the two are not the same. I wonder if a real history of the killer would show an affinity for death metal?

Absolutely, because 99.9 % of Americans are not socializing with terrorists and visa versa. And probably that many Muslims are caring moderates. But as for the few causing harm, there is no doubt they are ruthless and there is no doubt that our largest focus on the WOT is based on those few. They usually work on multiple plots/hits at once. So, this is looking a bit ‘signature’. This is not about Being mean, but for goodness sakes, a terror group just threatened Norway due to the recent case there. I highly doubt this guy could pull this off alone. I think he was ‘used’ for his unsuspecting appearance. There are many typical Germans who have been training as well, don't let his nationality fool you.

No, you’re right. When this first came over the wires, my immediate thought was “al-Qaeda”, or some other jihadi outfit. It certainly did fit the MO like a glove.....the car bombing, the mass shooting incident.

I now can’t help but wonder if the suspect thought he could get away with his crime (ie, after the shooting spree), and somehow make it look like the Muslims did it. That’s a disturbing thought to say the least. Of course, time will tell, and we’re all quite early into the story.

>> but unfortunately not all acts of violence and mayhem can be laid at the feet of Muslims just because Freepers want them to be.

Unfortunately, you fit in that group.

Indeed, this guy could’ve been used.

However, a disturbing thought just entered my mind. What if the suspect planned on getting away with his little crime spree today? After his massacre on the island, he could’ve just taken off in his boat.

What if he was trying to make it look like Muslims did this: a false flag operation? Certainly, it bore the hallmarks of jihadist warfare. Maybe that was the point. About 6 hours ago, I started getting this nagging feeling that this wasn’t a typical jihadi attack, based on information that started coming up regarding the political nature of the targets. Now, that nagging feeling is coming back that this clown may have tried to pull off a Reichstag fire incident (false flag operation).

The next few days will be interesting to say the least.

Thanks.

Prayers for the children, their families, and all those in Norway affected by this atrocity.

Funny that I have a nagging feeling that it was an extremist trying to infiltrate easily by using him and upsetting the apple cart regarding our perceptions. I have a good feeling he wasn’t solo and he was the face used for the operation. We’ll see, hopefully.

Let’s Americans make their own laws, and Norwegians make theirs. National sovereignty is a good thing.

National sovereignty is irrelevant in the face of an individual's God-given right to self-defense.

Why that concept should only be applicable to Americans is beyond me.

IF what is currently being reported is close to right, there were probably a few more involved at least. Maybe not to the point where they knew of an attack, but in getting the materials and such.

What a few days, and it will become clearer.

Facebook started pulling the fake profiles and pulled that one as well. I’m calling shenanigans on that profile (see prior posts). Too many things made it appear fake. Just like the Laughner fake profiles after the shooting. Anytime something like this happens, a bunch of pranksters and worse make these fake pages.

Here is some info regarding targets:
“7.   Official offices of the governmental institutions of those countries that are waging war, both on the state level and on the level of unions and political and military alliances, in the case where they participate in the aggression. Such as the offices of the NAO and The European Union…, this requires decisions that have been studied carefully from a political perspective.”

8.   Buildings of the security services and the central intelligence in the capitals of America and allied Western states.

He ran a one-man agricultural business so he had easy access to fertilizer etc...

Something like this is not that hard for one man to pull off. Frankly he could have done far more damage...

Weapons... Semi-auto is easy to obtain. Full auto may be difficult to come by, but they are available on the black market if you have connections. Many have been confiscated from the foreign gangs.

the fertilizer can be made into a bomb, but you need to get a detonator to make it blow...

it’s not as easy as it sounds...a lot of folks, including the friends of Bill Ayers, went to their final reward because they didn’t do it right.

Norwegian news.

No idea if it was a real business or just a front. The business was established in 2009. No doubt we’ll know more in the next few days.

Apparently his education is religion and finance.

I’m trying to read about 7 threads about this. Just so I understand, are you saying Facebook pulled the Norwegian’s profile or are you just referring to Laughner?

Just so I get it clearly.

Do you have a link. Here is a link to Norway news that states: the post has been taken down, but there are screen shots of thhis claim. I’ll get it for you.

An obscure group called Ansar al-Jihad al-Alami (Assistants of the Global Jihad) posted a message on an Islamist bulletin board called Smukh and may have uploaded a video to YouTube weeks ago several days ago in which they predicted the attack.

Ansar al-Jihad’s Abu Sulayman al-Nasir allegedly posted a message claiming responsibility for the Oslo attacks on the Arabic-language jihadist forum Shamikh. According to a partial translation by terrorism expert Will McCants of Jihadica, al-Nasir claims the attacks were in retribution for the occupation of Afghanistan by foreign troops and unnamed insults to the Muslim prophet Muhammad. Al-Nasir also threatens further attacks:
