Did you even read my scribblings? Because if you did, you need to learn how to interpret and understand the words that are there on the paper.
The verse you quote has less than NOTHING to do with my statement.
The boys were LEAVING a MONDAY (first day, if you prefer) meeting, and Paul held them until midnight/Tuesday morning with a speech.
What on earth are YOU talking about?
THESE??
It was explained to me that the reason for Sunday worship is that Saturday/Sabbath was considered too holy for even the church leaders/priests to work, so Sunday became the day of worship after a day of rest.Im not saying this is what happened, but it is an explanation I received once. It sounds plausible to me, but Im so gullible...
The boys were LEAVING a MONDAY (first day, if you prefer) meeting, and Paul held them until midnight/Tuesday morning with a speech.
Acts 20:7
And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them, ready to depart on the morrow; and continued his speech until midnight.
It seems pretty clear to me that the disciples did NOT 'come together to break bread' on the
SECOND day of the week or the
THIRD day of the week or the
FOURTH day of the week or the
FIFTH day of the week or the
SIXTH day of the week or even the
SEVENTH day of the week,
But only on the FIRST day of the week.
WHEN seems to MEAN something. WHAT the disciples were DOING was something that evidently occurred whether Paul was around or not.
The boys were LEAVING a MONDAY (first day, if you prefer) meeting,
When did MONDAY become the FIRST day, anyway?
