Rick Perry’s ‘Texas Taint’ Stops Him From Winning Presidency
MEDIAite ^ | July 24, 2011 | Matt Schneider

Posted on 07/24/2011 1:44:02 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Many conservatives and Tea Party activists across the country are eagerly anticipating the entry of Texas Governor Rick Perry into the race for the Republican presidential nomination. Yet Fox Business correspondent Charlie Gasparino suggests that many New Yorkers on Wall Street, presumably of both political parties, are not at all excited about the possibility of a Perry presidency.

Gasparino warns:

“I talk to a lot of Wall Street guys . . . you know I don’t think a guy from Texas can win again. I just think there’s a Texas taint to it all. And I know the big money on the street in New York, I don’t think they’re going to go for a Texan.”

Instead, Gasparino reveals many on Wall Street are preparing for a match-up between President Obama and Mitt Romney. Apparently the “taint” of Obamacare, Romneycare or anything else stinking up these two would wash off much more easily than Wall Street’s enduring fear of anything affiliated with Texas.

Oh, and speaking of california taint...anybody think Reagan was hurt by the fact that he and Nixon were from the same state?

“Taints,” like most everything, are bigger in Texas, I guess.

That’s a big “shocker”! Of course, again, everything in Texas is bigger.

If Perry gets in, he takes more support from Romney than anyone else.

Wall Street voted for Obama. They can kiss my ass.

I’m all for Texas seceding and then we will see who’s “tainted”. Texas has all the ingredients to kick America’s ass economically, especially if they go through with Obamacare.

It won’t even be close.

Enthusiasm for Perry at Iowa Event
By TRIP GABRIEL

SEARSBORO, Iowa — Rick Perry is not yet in the race for president, but don’t tell the the people collecting e-mail addresses alongside tables for other, declared candidates at a gun-rights rally here on Saturday.

In T-shirts reading “Americans for Rick Perry,” they buttonholed the largely male crowd, who had come to inspect the wares of companies like Chaos Arms and to test-fire a 50-caliber assault rifle, its shell – one to a customer, please – as big around as an Iowa corncob.....

Excluded from the straw poll on Aug. 13, which is a test of organizational strength in Iowa, the Perry group has shifted strategy. “If there’s Iowans gathered some place and they’re Republicans, we’re talking about Rick Perry,” Mr. Schoenfeld said.

At the Second Amendment Rally here in central Iowa, Patrick McCormick added his name to about 75 others to receive information. “I like Rick Perry,” said Mr. McCormick, a truck driver, adding he is still mulling his choices. “I really like Herman Cain. And I’m interested in Tim Pawlenty.”.....

The Jon Stewart/Ed Helms interview about the taint. It’s pretty funny.

“You’re starting to pound the table Diogenesis.”

What is the largest font size permissible for posting? The only thing missing was all caps, italics and underline. Maybe Genesis needs to make an exodus. As a minimum he should tell us h(is)er domicile and favored candidate.

To be sure Goodhair has his share of faults and I’ve posted a number of criticisms of him myself, but that Al Gore 20+ year old dog won’t hunt. The statute of limitations expired long ago on that one. Goodhair is a down and dirty politician. Goodhair is NOT a RINO. To say that is equivalent to attacking someone you don’t like similar to Demcraps use of “racist.”

I challenge anyone to name one governor (other than perhaps Brewer) that has had more frequent vocal criticism of the regime on MORE than one issue during the course of the past year. If that is not a plus, then a change in medications for those that think otherwise may be necessary.

Cain is fading as fast as Godfathers restaurants. Bachmann has the conservatives for now. If Palin (preferably) or Perry gets in, it’s all over for her.

The crony-capitalist establishment sees that Romney has flat-lined at roughly 20%. The Tea Party and conservative-leaning independents will never vote for him. The answer: Rick Perry, who can spew out "red-meat rhetoric" designed to con conservatives, even though his history is that of someone who supported Al Gore in 1988 and Rudy Giuliani in 2008.

No more phonies. No more career political hacks. We have the chance to elect a true conservative this time. Nothing else will save the country.

......even though his history is that of someone who supported Al Gore in 1988 and Rudy Giuliani in 2008.

You'll have to do better than a southern democrat supporting Al Gore who would have been thought of as a Zell Miller democrat before he hooked up with Clinton, and his support of strong national security Rudy "America's Mayor" Giuliani to make any headway down that path.
