That would also be true, but the castration/kid-execution thing was to prove not merely that the "Knight" was the fanatical equal of the Jihadis but principally that he was "not a EU/US agent."
He could have proved his fanaticalism by executing Muslim children instead, but that would not have convinced Jihadis that he wasn't an agent of what they still see as the "anti-Muslim" EU/US.
From 2nd paragraph of excerpt: "Now what kind of sacrifice would be great enough to remove all doubt that the candidate is not a EU/US agent?"
You know what? Political left in Europe has been aligned with Islamic grps & Islamists for a very long time. Some of it has been because of public ignorance, some deliberate. It goes back decades, not years.
Breivik or no Breivik (lunatic, knight or not), that is (has been) a reality.
Same applies to a few grps & individuals, who *consider* themselves right of the political spectrum, yet support Islamic groups, individuals, and Islam in general for whatever reasons or beliefs.
In Breivik’s case, though a wrong approach by him, I think he was seeking to align, temporarily & as needed, with Islamic groups, against the left (”Marxists”) in Europe to equalize, or perhaps to try to dismantle the very traditional alliance between the left & Islamic grps.
I’m betting that some Islamic groups are watching these recent events very closely, quietly & taking notes to learn from for themselves.
Lastly, ‘the left’ have a lotta blood on their hands, not only in Europe & elsewhere, but particularly in the ME. Over the decades, I’d say many more gallons of blood than we saw on July 22. Though, 3 or more wrongs won’t necessarily make the wrong right. But, there you have the reality.
If we need to stop this trend of bloodshed, Europe may want to initiate it. But, if it continues, the future, I suspect, won’t be a pleasant one for anyone.
If the Moslems want to establish a caliphate in the ME, let them. But, don’t feed it & don’t feed their stuff in Europe or the West.
Yes, that’s true. He really hated the US/EU governments. They may be soft and ineffective, but they’re certainly not up there at the point of deserving hatred (such as Islamic and Marxist tyrannies would be).
That’s one of the reasons I think that he may have been getting some Islamic coaching, even if he didn’t know it. He hates the US the way a leftist European or spoiled American (either leftist or Muslim) hates it, but he was not an American and had never lived here or even visited, to my knowledge. I think he was probably coached by somebody like Adam Gadahn or somebody else with Islamist/leftist/counterculture ties (fellow America hater Bill Ayres could have written every word that Breivik wrote about his hatred for the US).
