The statement is only confusing if you have reading comprehension problems. I previously gave you the benefit of the doubt in another post. Now you have nearly confirmed that you are a troll.
Because you seem to attempt to argue from nostalgia (”the greatest nation the world has ever known”), I would point out that our federal constitutional republic is as dead as the Roman Republic in the days of Augustus Caesar.
