I caught some audio of the hearing on Roger Hedgecock's show at the top of the hour.

Asked if they told Mexican counterparts what was going on ATF said, "We assumed they knew." Asked if they believed this was still a good idea, they said, "YES!"

What a liar! One of the few segments I heard was a POed ATF agent who had been stationed in Mexico. He was POed because even the ATF in Mexico was kept in the dark.

They deliberately kept it from them because they would have gone ballistic if they knew their counterparts in the states were arming the very criminals they were there to help the Mexican LEAs get.
