VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. -- Former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney treated supporters at a fundraiser in Virginia to a sneak peek of his inclinations regarding his vice presidential shortlist should he become the Republican nominee in 2012, according to a new report.

At the Virginia Beach home of State Sen. Jeff McWaters Monday, Romney praised three up-and-coming stars of the GOP, saying his shortlist included Virginia Gov. Bob McDonnell, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie and Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, the Bearing Drift blog reported Tuesday

Romney you wont be picking any VP’s your candidacy is over now that Perry is jumping in.

But it’s a good suggestion that Perry should consider :)

In traditional Christie style, I hope he shoots this trial balloon from Romney down without delay.

Romney trying to use Christie's name to gain favor. Of COURSE Christie is on his short list. Christie is at the top of everyone's short list, I'm betting.

Christie has ruled out the presidency flatly. He's not emphatically ruled out VP. And Romney did come a-calling a few months back. I wonder if Christie left the door open. I hope not. We need him here in NJ for another 6 years or so.

Romney is an idiot. Someone needs to shove him off to the Abysmal Governors Pasture where he can play horeshoes with William Weld :)

If by "right" you mean a losing ticket!

Christie is soft on Muslims, easily turned into a slightly fatter TONY SOPRANO by the MSM and Dems, and is far too "new" a governor to be chosen for anything right now. He also wouldn't bring any states with him, as a VEEP.

Romney says nothing about the debt crisis
to protect his Obama.

What a coward.

Without question ROmney would lose on FR by 97 to 3.
And I am squarely in that 97%.
However among all republican voters in country, every poll I have seen he is usually at the top. But usually his numbers are around 20%. WHich then means 1 in 5 republicans likes Romney. I hope his opponents do not divide the votes among themselves and let Romney win nomination by 1 in 5.

History Romney!!! How many North Eastern Republicans have won the Presidency in the last 30 years? Yep, adding a second to the ticket will make it even better!

Oh, King Willard, self-deluded front runner, is now all-out to steal some legitimate thunder from 3 who are actually
DOING something. He wants in on their act, or he also wants to neuter them? He thinks he can handle both strategies,
apparently. They should and will all say NO, should it come to that. I always said Huntsman was only there in order to become Romney’s Veep. He’s one of the few who would likely say YES, making for the dullest, most irrelevant, and anticlimactic Republican ticket ever.

If Christie wanted to go to the WH he’d run himself. Same for the Virginia governor. And I have a hard time seeing Rubio jumping so soon when he has plenty of time to run.

Romney and DeMint have a long time partnership, I think that is the name that would be hinted at later in a successful campaign, if it ever came to that.

Sounds like a “gift with purchase” deal, ‘cept I’m not buyin’. Romney is so 2008, ya know?
