These Hispanics people don't care about "comprehensive immigration reform." They're here. They're Americans. They'll care about jobs.

Republicans do need to fight for these young voters rather than concede or expect them to find the GOP on their own after a dozen years of public education and a media message that supports the Democrat worldview.

Unfortunately the GOP are infamously bad on delivering a message, bad at branding. They couldn't figure out how to sell the Ryan proposal, particularly on Medicare. Look at the circular firing squad last week with the Gang of Six cutting the legs out from under "Cut, Cap & Balance."

Democrats are like a pack of wolves, with the GOP it's like herding cats.

bull, the hispanic vote unlike the black vote is 50-50 and as they assemalate more than will mostly become republicans since everything about them is conservative.

Bull is right, They will vote 70 to 80% liberal if not higher. Just go to any Mexican restaurant around here and look at the free liberal Spanish only mags that are given away out front. It is all anti-conservative propaganda.

There's a problem with your premise. One, "that gay marriage thing" hasn't hurt Democrats with black voters and the youth of all demographics more and more don't see it as an issue.

Democrats play identity politics and pressing the panic buttons of each group individually which distracts from other things they may be pushing that a group may oppose whether it's late term and publicly funded abortion or redefining marriage.

Right. That is my observation, too. American Hispanics know jobs and freedom don’t come from Marxism and it’s diversity of racism.

This assumes all the illegals who no speaka english are Democrats because Democrats are for anything criminal. As Clinton says, the Democrats are the party supported by criminals.

That is a great sounding platitude devoid of any statistical evidence

Working hard means doesn’t guarantee how folks vote...look at black middle and upper class....
It’s culture as much as anything

California is a prefect example where this leads

This reminds me of 2005 here when the site was pro amnesty....many of those left over Rudy but looks like some are back

Stupid and naive....brainwashed to resist any racial our ethnic distinctness unless it’s purpose is to denigrate whites

Wish I could agree, because that 66% backing for the dems is problematic.

Depends where you are...what parish

Hispanic Catholic don’t equal liberal Democrats but in a vacuum of where someone says they are helping you out of the kindness of their heart without telling you where they got the money, of course they are going to gravitate to Democrats.

If they understood the source of the ill gotten gains, then they would reject the Democrat and go Republican.

I think that Obama got about 77% of the Catholic Hispanic vote, that doesn’t leave many parishes.

That isn't true, that wouldn't explain why Protestant Hispanics voted Republican by 56% in 2004, and 48% in 2008.

agreed, don’t think it explains it either

that wasn’t my point and don’t even get the connection you are trying to make

How bout the possibility that Hispanics first become Protestant then later become Republican? Could it be that the influx of new Protestants being so great...

and I haven’t seen any GOP present either at these churches or their communities, GOP just surrendering.

How they vote has nothing to do with their political leanings.

You may not know that traditionally in America, the overall Catholic vote goes for democrats, in 2008, Obama won 54% of the overall Catholic vote.

Hispanic Catholics are voting their politics, in California, 57% of them supported Gay Marriage.

Do you think Catholics are Catholic because they say so? Go to Church?

For many, it is just the community they run in, it has nothing to do with their heartfelt convictions.

These percentages really mean nothing unless you understand who is reporting themselves as Catholic.

Republicans need to stop talking like Democrats. Democrats talk about people as if they are members of groups and are voting blocks. People, no matter what their ethnic origin who are legally able to vote (key here) and are working etc should be the exact people who see liberal policies as a threat. Hispanics are like everyone else. Some of them are good people, some of them are not. Let’s stop talking about them like a voting block instead of people, just like us.

Of course I do, they are baptised catholics that are counted as such by the church. The ones that have left the faith and joined another church, or left Christianity, say so.

You know, 40% of the catholics in the church weren’t strong believers, they were their because their Mom, Uncle, or a girl fiend goes there.

It isn’t heart felt.

The Roman Catholic church is both a religion, cultural center, and a social gathering wrapped up in one. Not everyone is there for the religion.

Just as people that go to the country club aren’t always there for the golf.

I even knew Atheist and Agnostics going to Roman Catholic Church when I was little. The thing that made me mad though was the Atheist went to communion even though we complained about it to our teacher in Sunday School. At least the agnostic didn’t go to communion.

Looking back, it made sense though.

Can a Heart Felt Catholic read the bible and conclude it is ok to try to get the government to take someone else’s money to give it to them? I don’t believe so.

Every Catholic I confronted either broke down and agreed or got defensive to the point of threatening to hit me or started swearing at me. One guy I couldn’t tell you if he was possessed or not.

I ask them, how is it not stealing? Is not the fence of stolen goods as guilty as the thief? Do you give your allegiance to wolves in sheep’s clothing?

If you are really Catholic, how can you react to my intervention in this way?
