I read the article and I'm a little confused. Here's how I took it, correct me if I'm wrong.
The scientists that first reported that "polar bears are drowning", later said that their study mentioned nothing about global warming and that the GW angle was just spin put on their study by others (like Gore).
After they said that, the Obama administration has been persecuting both of them, resulting in the scientific misconduct investigation mentioned in this article.
The scientists, for their part are filing a complaint saying that they are being harassed by the Obama administration for not caving into political pressure.
Sound right? If so, arent the scientists the "good guys" then?

Your interpretation would be more consistent with the fascist behavior of the Obama administration.

Almost looks like the administration is trying to fire the fellow & put their own crony. Its probably an SES position somewhat subject to political machinations.
I suspect the bears drowned because they were out swimming in a storm. Probably happens on occasion, but is rarely observed since helicopter monitoring of whales is not doen very often.
