Palin’s Well-Timed Reminder to Freshmen
NYT ^ | Thursday July 28, 2011 | Michael Shear

Sarah Palin has impeccable timing.

The former Republican vice presidential nominee took to her Facebook page Thursday afternoon to warn freshman Republicans in the House that they just might face primary opposition if they cave in to demands by their party to raise the debt ceiling.

“All my best to you, GOP Freshmen, from up here in the Last Frontier. Sincerely, Sarah Palin,” she wrote. “P.S. Everyone I talk to still believes in contested primaries.”

Just two hours later, House Speaker John A. Boehner was forced to postpone the vote on his proposal to increase the debt ceiling at the last minute, apparently facing a revolt among some of those very members.

Ironically Palin and Bachmann are just about the only GOP leaders with any balls.

LOL True.

The New York Times...with such a great message? I am very pleased. I hope and pray that God will watch over our America. The replys at the NYT site were really vial. All liberal talking points. It is very sad. WE THE PEOPLE need God’s help...which is why he is bringing us Sarah!

EAGLES UP SARAH...WE HAVE YOUR BACK!

But but but, she’s uneluctable! She has no experience! She wasn’t even “brave” enough to terminate a pregnancy of an imperfect fetus! She can’t even make up her mind if she’s going to run or not, so how can she make up her mind as president! I could go on, but I need to get to bed.

I took a point away from Mrs. Palin the other day after an interview with Greta Van Susteren for a comment advocating political relativism. I give her that point back. Thank you, Sarah Palin, for offering directly a word of support to those patriots we have holding the line. I appreciate it!

“Just two hours later, House Speaker John A. Boehner was forced...”

Billy Long freshman republican (Missouri, 7th)

Billy defeated 2 establishment candidates in the republican primary in 2010 with the help of conservatives (tea party type voters).

Billy read and heed Palin's reminder.

One Facebook posting is probably why Boehner is scrambling now to “tweak” the POS bill in order to get enough votes to pass it.

Anyone who doubts that Sarah will declare as a candidate, then they are in an alternate reality.

I suspect she has been waiting to see how this issue plays out. It will determine whether she runs for the Republican nomination or leads the Tea Party out of the Republican Party.

Bachmann’s statement on TV this morning was stupid. On the one had she said that Congress controls the purse strings and on the other hand blamed Obie and Bush for over spending. It was all over the place. Why isn’t the Tea Party Caucus leader trying to rally the Tea Party Caucus? Because she is too busy running for president. She needs to refocus on the problem at hand and quit posturing for personal gain.

Why?

Why not just come out and say what you mean? Rand Paul and Jim Demint did.

The New York Times reading the writing on the wall and kissing up to the (soon-to-be) next president perhaps?

She appears to be the defacto leader of the party right now.

The national party, yes.

But, unfortunately, not the Washington party.

So what, first I have seen of it. Did you ping each and ever FR member when it was first posted, if so I missed mine.

I would like to see it discussed in at least a dozen other threads.

...or leads the Tea Party out of the Republican Party.

She's not going to do that, under any circumstances.

It would be self-defeating.

I doubt he is tweaking the bill, but rather twisting arms and I mean really hard. The leadership has no respect for the new guys, they are little more than fodder for the machine.

There will be serious repercussions to no voters.

Go back to CCB, it passed the house. Now stand in front of the cameras and state the following: “The Obama administration and Democratic Party want to increase taxes and spending, turning the American dream into the American nightmare for working Americans.” Repeat loud and often. The MSM will have to report if that is all that comes out of the Republican Party.

Agreed. She will bury the Republican party if they do not include conservative policy beyond lip service. Boehner waited until the last hour to fly his colors. Now we know, and so does Sarah. Now the RNC will try to woo, cajole and trick conservatives. That will no longer work. We will have Sarah, or if she does not declare, we will stay home. And there will be evolve later solutions to problems which will not involve Congress. They will be solved in the older ways of our history which will lead to Civil war.

Reid and Pelosi need a caning.

The Won? He can lapse into ignominy as a traitor to America which he seeks to dis-unify and usurp. He also seeks to destabilize the nations of our allies.

But if we have Sarah, we may well resecure our Republic, and avoid the necessity for internal warfare and strife. It is in her that we must trust, and hope she may rise to the occasion
