The U.S congress is planning to file Articles of Impeachment against President Obama after he rejected another bipartisan plan debt plan to prevent the U.S from a credit default.

Earlier today republicans warned President Obama that impeachment proceedings would be brought against him if he causes the nation to default on its debt.

Congressman Steve King, the Republic member of the House of Representative from Iowa, wrote on his twitter account Monday that President Barack Obama “would be impeached” if the nation falls into default.

Politico reported afterward on King's threat and added that other members of congress were also ready to bring impeachment charges against Obama over the debt talks. Rep. Tim Scott (R-S.C.) warned earlier this month it would be “an impeachable offense” and Bruce Fein has already drafted articles of impeachment for House republicans to introduce.

As the August 2nd deadline of a default on U.S. draws near, the major rating agencies have already warned that a credit rating downgrade may now be inevitable due to the political bickering within members of congress and with the President.

Cool - I never thought it would come to this...but I’d rather have this fight now, then when the country is bankrupt.

I figured we’d just ‘compromise’ ourselves to insolvency and Third World status.

Leave it alone. It only makes 0bambi look sane and reasonable. And if you thought the RATs were unhinged before, it will be nothing compared to their rage at another impeachment trial. Leave it for later.

PUBs need to concentrate on averting the crisis. Load up the Boehner plan with BBA, repeal DeathCare, front end load the cuts, drop the Super Congress idea. Then dare the Senate to kill it. Reid’s plan won’t be introduced in the House. It is a revenue bill and doesn’t originate in the House, per the Constitution.

As much as we would all love that it will never happen even with evidence to ten decimal places that Obummer should be.

Please tell me this is not satire nor someone pulling my leg.

He should have been impeached long ago. But rid of him now is better than nothing.

We all know ultimately it’s a matter of votes, and Congress could bust the Bamster down to dog catcher tomorrow with those votes, the question remains if enough members can be made to understand that Bam ain’t in their best self interest in the long term and is toxic damaged goods, even for “progressives”. A game of high stakes chess.

ibtz

There are no plans to impeach.

King, IIRC, was talking about the attempt invoking of 14th amendment clause.

Regardless, this is balderdash.

I think King was talking about if he were to veto a bill passed by both houses of Congress.

“Leave it alone.”

Absolutely. Impeaching Clinton really did the GOP so much good, didn’t it?

Why don’t they get the deal done, wait for the dust to settle and then impeach him for the Fast and Furious debacle. That seems a lot easier. They can get rid of him and Holder at the same time.

Yeah....well I suppose beats looking in the mirror at the origin of the spending that causes such defaults....idjits.

Talk about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory....leave it to the GOP to figure out another angle on that ONE!!!

It cleared the air on a number of issues and proved that Democrats are feral.

Now we know they would exonerate one of their own of anything, no matter what evidence might be produced. Ozzie Myers is dead and gone -- ditto Harrison Williams. A modern Democrat could get caught in broad daylight with a suitcase of cash, selling his office over the bleeding corpse of a 12-year-old girl, and the Dims would all rationalize it down to "it was only .......[fill in the blanks].">

No democrat will support it and few repubs.

No way they'll support it. They won't even stand up and pass a bill to keep our country from defaulting. Every single democrat is still marching in lock step with the commie POS. Not ONE single rat statesman in the entire congress will do what is right for the country. They are all running scared of the poser.
