Rather than slamming on the brakes, we need to slow down gradually. I think the one cent solution is a good idea - - cut enough to be balanced in about 6-10 years.
I’d go for that. However, with the exception of the one sent solution that won’t pass, everyone is trying to adjust how hard we push the gas peddle. NO ONE is serious about shifting to neutral let alone applying the brakes.
