Why do you say that? If that is true, why did Bonehead have to threaten and bribe those Freshmen to vote for his bill. What time frame were they “thinking about the country”? Before Bonehead brought them in one by one and threatened them or after Bonehead brought them in one by one and threatened or bribed them? Just great! The Democrats screw around with the this without regard to the future. Actually, I think it is too late already, no matter what they decide. Our rating will fall and it will be the beginning of the fall of the US.
Spending has to decrease so much that they will never agree to it. Default or at least semi-shutdown of the government is on the horizon...

They wouldn't need to freeze the ceiling if they made massive cuts in government spending. Spending is like a drug, they're hooked on it like a junkie.
It is too late. No matter what happens on August 3rd, this country’s credit rating gets dropped a notch from triple-A to double-A.
That might have mattered a couple years ago when the credit rating firms were sounding the alarms to the feds to make massive cuts to their budget and to stop spending needlessly. They said that if the feds did that that the government would avoid a disaster in the future. Well, here we are in the future.

Actually, I think that you are right! We have little hope of recovery regardless of political party - unless it is Libertarian and flat out changes the direction of the country.
