I still don’t think anyone should ever trust the ACU again

Not going back. The days where you had a Ken Mehlman running the Republicans and Gopackers hidden away somewhere in the top ranks of CPAC definitely cast a pall over Republican and Conservative fortunes.
Both are still suspect, but CPAC needs to do more. Let's see some board purges.

EXCELLENT News! Thank you so much for posting.
I had not even hoped for this development - I thought CPAC had imploded.

Horowitz sure is chummy with queers.
Isn’t that curious.

Long considered a fringe group, the John Birch Societys sensationalist accusations (such as saying Dwight Eisenhower was a dedicated, conscious agent of the Communist conspiracy) once prompted William F. Buckley to effectively banish the group from the conservative movement.
That’s funny. From where we stand today, the Birchers seem to have been far more accurate in their assesment of reality. Buckley seems more like a NE elitist than a conservative.

Agreed. Became a laughing stock these past few years.

Despite accusing Americans for Tax Reforms Grover Norquist and ACU board member Suhail Khan, during his 2011 CPAC speech, of being in league with the Muslim Brotherhood, it was decided that conservative activist David Horowitz would not be precluded from participating in the future. All the more reason CPAC should be boycotted again this year.

Notice how they call the Birchers “ultra” conservative but they don't call the fudge packers ultra liberal which is exactly what the Goppers are. Good for Horowits to expose the queer front group for what it is. I hope he goes after Erickson at Red State as well, another fudge packer supporter.

How many members does GOProud have? I bet very few. The organization is just another Gay activist angle.
To: Hawk720
CPAC has had its little tryst with the queers, I wonder if either got any satisfaction out of it.

Glad Keene’s gone. Never thought of him as a conservative so much as a Keenean. Problem with DC, well, ONE of the problems, is guys like this come along and the cause becomes all about them, their power, their influence. Just send your dues and we’ll take care of business. It’s almost inevitable. In the age of the internet, hopefully, their power and influence are short-lived, so the power stays with the people who foot the bill.

How many members does GOProud have? I bet very few. "Very few", is as good assessment as any. Queers are 2% to 3% of the population, very few are conservative and politically active. CPAC had everything to lose and practically nothing to gain by letting them in.

And what has the John Birch Society done lately that's bad, I wonder?

I don’t know, I kind of think good behavior should be rewarded.
I mean if there is no positive response to these changes, that would be a shame.

Thanks Hawk720.
...gay conservative group GOProud and the ultraconservative John Birch Society won't be co-sponsoring the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) in 2012.
And Birch Logs, well, those are right out.

I don’t buy the 2% to 3% either. It is in their advantage to inflate their numbers.
