They reported that Netanyahu told a closed meeting that Israel is negotiating a joint position paper with the United States that will have some elements of Obama's second speech in May (the AIPAC speech where he walked back some of what he said in the first speech), but that would specifically state that Israel will not return to the '1967 borders.'
We should remember that lots of things are going on at the moment. The housing protests in Israel, the debt deal in the US, Syria, Libya, the EU debt crisis, etc, etc. Various political leaders need "good news" and are quite capapble of "leaking" some interesting news to put pressure on their counterparts.

This is the sort of thing Netanuyahu did in his first term when he was elected to save the country from being dismembered.
