"In the last few months, the economy has had to absorb an earthquake in Japan, the economic head winds coming from Europe, the Arab Spring and the rise in oil prices, all of which have been very challenging for the recovery. But these are things we couldn't control. Our economy didn't need Washington to come along with a manufactured crisis to make things worse. That was in our hands. It's pretty likely that the uncertainty surrounding the raising of the debt ceiling for both businesses and consumers has been unsettling and just one more impediment to the full recovery that we need and it's something we could have avoided entirely. So, voters may have chosen divided government but they sure didn't vote for dysfunctional government. They want us to solve problems, they want us to get this economy growing and adding jobs," President Obama said in the Rose Garden Tuesday afternoon after the debt ceiling deal passed in the Senate.

0bama - Wringing the future
Funny, I'm feeling about the same way I did when the so called health care bill passed...frustrated, disappointed, pissed, hopeless and in total disbelief what this Government is doing to our Country.
I guess the only upside is that I have zero debt, lots of food stashed as well as other hopefully not necessary accoutrement's.
You left out that not only do we have to pay for ourselves or do without, but the reason we have to do without is because we're paying for those for others, not leaving the money for us to do those things ourselves!
You and your minions didn’t even have a budget for the past two years.
Cry those crocodile tears somewhere else.
“Didn’t Need This ‘Manufactured Crisis’”
In one sense he’s right. The spectre of August 2nd wasn’t what it was made out to be. Obama shares the blame for making it seem like the edge of armageddon, by the way, and therefore ought to lecture himself. Then again, he wouldn’t need to have bothered had Congress raised the debt ceiling like they usually do. So I guess he can blame them for that.
However, this is all foofaraw. There is a crisis coming. A really, really huge crisis. Obama would like to pretend there is no connection between it and August 2nd (actually, he likes to pretend it doesn’t exist at all, except as an excuse to collect more taxes). There isn’t, not directly at least. Some of us, call us the responsible ones, decided to use the spectre of August 2nd as a proxy for it. In that sense, the recent mania was “manufactured.” But I’d rather deal with manufactured crises intended to avoid real ones than real ones themselves.
So what does he expect, after ramming unpopular legislation through Congress that will impact the entire economy, by means of bribes and back room dealings? The ObamaCare issue had a big affect on the 2010 elections. Without it, he might have had a much more pliant Congressional membership to deal with.
You can’t govern in a democracy this way, ramming through an enormous entitlement program that an entire political party opposes.
This man is FULL of excuses.
“Don’t judge me by my record, no, there’s all this other, SUPER HARD stuff I’ve had to contend with -—I ASSURE YOU I’M AWESOME..!”
It’s amazing that finally he managed to drop George Bush from his list of excuses —wow.
Black people had enough baggage to deal with —Joe Camel has doubled their burden.
1) obama and the Democrats wanted a bill that would result in not having to tackle the debt ceiling again pre-election 2012.
2) Reports right now indicate that the U.S. may get a downgrade in credit rating.
3)A downgrade in credit rating means interest rates will go up on money borrowed by the U.S.
4) Interest rates going up will mean that part of the monies approved for the debt ceiling increase will go for these increased interest costs.
5)Monies authorized for the debt ceiling increase may / will likely result in the need for another debt ceiling increase pre-election 2012.
“Debt deal doesnt dispel downgrade fear”
Why would it? I mean, seriously, did anyone think it would, beyond pretending to think so to gird their pro-compromise arguments.
THAT is the worst thing about it!!
Uh oh. Wish I was in your situation re: debt, but we've got about a year's worth of water, food, propane tanks, paper products and other, ahem, "goods" that I pray will not be needed.

TOTUS — The jug eared idiot chile even didn’t write this. He thinks Americans are going to fall for his lies. You just might be hearing the words “manufactured crisis” more often. Looks like a new Democrat buzz phrase
Gotta love those "goods".
They guarantee all the rest....stay safe and may God bless my FRiend!
