A 'Civil War Atmosphere' in Washington [ We are Fighting The Party of Slavery - again ]

After weeks of acrimony, the US Senate votes Tuesday on a compromise measure to raise the country's debt ceiling. The bill has drawn criticism from members of both parties, but it will likely pass just in time to save the US from default. German commentators on Tuesday express their frustration over the brinksmanship.

A last-minute deal to raise the US debt ceiling will probably pass on Tuesday, saving the country from defaulting on its debt but leaving both Democrats and Republicans dissatisfied.

The bill would lift the current $14.3 trillion debt ceiling until 2013, after the November 2012 federal elections. It calls for $2.1 trillion in spending cuts over 10 years, and it would create a special bipartisan congressional committee charged with drafting a deficit-reduction package by November.

Republican leaders in the House faced the press Monday, saying they would support the deal. Speaker of the House John Boehner, who had to table an earlier proposal because of opposition from the Republicans' "Tea Party" wing, was able to rally more than two-thirds of his Republican colleagues behind the latest bill.

Well I just skimmed through the linked page to see whether Der Spiegel correctly identified the party of slavery as the democrats.

Didn’t see the quote right offhand.

Anyone know whether they got that right?

It's Time

G-D How I wish It wasn't, we all know what happens when the Get-Along-Gang just wants to be friends with the Democrats, the Whigs weren't doing what the Public wanted, so the People formed a New Part, which of course, lead to the Civil War. The Same thing happening today, and we have the GERMANS being the first to recognize it, I used to live in Germany, and let me tell you, when the Germans reach an Epiphany about something before you do, that is sad and scary.

The difference in 1861 first seven then eleven states were attempting to leave the federal union the war was over stopping this and conquering the decreeing states and was thus not a true civil war. The current tension is not a war between the states but a war for the states and will be fought at over who will rule in each state. This is the prodromes of a possible true civil war. Those who believe in a god pray that this does not ensue. We have a potential situation like Spain in 1936 or France in 1793. Much of the left appear to be suffering from a form of demonic possession. There is little these people would not do if they get the chance. .

The animosity is for show only. Now that the curtain is closed and the audience has gone home they are clinking glasses together.

I broke all my glasses and it was not from clinking them together. It was from throwing them against things in fits of rage.

Do y’all feel free? I don’t. I feel hounded, used, abused, ignored and robbed.

Isn’t the Republic dead and now replaced with a rabble of democracy and elite political class?

Anybody else feel this way?

Anybody have real faith in an orderly political system and elections are ever going to make things right and restore freedom and the Republic?

If there were a candidate who absolutely hated the District of Corruption scene and would terrorize them and make the lives of the pigs on the hill and in the beltway as miserable as they are making us... I would vote for him or her.

I would not care how radical they were so long as they would lash out at the system we now have, punish it and put them in the streets.

Civil War? Naaahhh! not yet

1. No 3rd battle of Bull Run.

2. No blood spilt yet.

3. And No war is ever Civil.

Observations:

At the time of the Civil War the manufacturing was in the North and the South was largely Agricultural. Now much of the viable manufacturing has moved to the south or off-shore.

The Banking Centers are still largely up North (plus East & West Coasts). What would trigger a Civil War? Financial collapse? That would be centered in the North East.

Where are most of the Military officers from?

There is no reason for a Civil War, but there is reason to have trials for some POLs for Treason....

It is TIME to DownSize DC! Eliminate entire departments. Restore a constitutional government.

IT IS TIME!

I have three children - one 23, one 20 and one that’s 5. I fear the world we leave to them will be one on a slippery slope into anarchy, revolution and violence.

I am becoming increasingly pessimistic that the trend will be reversed anytime soon if at all. I mean for God’s sake - we have the most important election coming up in over 30 years and so far Mitt Romney is the favorite?????
