Libyan Embassy in US to reopen under opposition

WASHINGTON — The State Department has signed off on papers that allow the Libyan Embassy in Washington to reopen under control of the opposition Transitional National Council and give staffers access to roughly $13 million in mission assets that had been frozen.
State Department officials said Tuesday that the council's request to reopen the embassy had been reviewed and approved following the Obama administration's decision last month to formally recognize the Benghazi-based group as Libya's legitimate governing authority. Libya's former ambassador to the United States, Ali Aujali, who resigned to protest Libyan leader Muammar Gadhafi's violent crackdown on opponents, is expected to serve as charge d'affaires.

I’m sure it’s intended for that purpose. I wonder how many “rebels” they can recruit who will CONSENT to moving to the US to staff the embassy. That decision will be SO difficult to make. Stay and fight for their country OR go to the US where the tents for their camels have already been prepared and inhabited - thanks to the lamebrain politics of this administration.
So if $13 million in seized assets is be used for the embassy, where does the money come from when that’s gone? Hmmmmm - that’s another toughie!
