Thanks for knocking down that straw man. The oath doesn’t say to intrepret the constitution. It says to support and defend the constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. No interpreters, no philosophers needed. When someone attacks you, you don’t need a philosopher to tell you someone is attacking you.

So then, I don’t understand what you are calling for when you said this:

“Wow, imagine that. I wish our military would grow a pair and make some demands of its own... namely, that the Left’s push toward transforming the country into a socialist dictatorship where the Constitution is utterly meaningless had better stop.”

The Constitution does not give the military a role in stopping “the Left’s push toward transforming the country into a socialist dictatorship...” except to forcibly remove a president who has been impeached and refuses to go, or refuse to surrender to an attempted coup d’etat or invasion. All other action along that line (stopping the Left’s push) is with the legislative and/or judicial branches, and/or the states.

What specifically do you want the military to do?
