Schumer: ‘A Gun Held’ To Our Heads by GOP Over FAA Funding
Cybercast News Service ^ | 8/3/11 | Nicholas Ballasy

Posted on 08/03/2011 7:13:08 PM PDT by Nachum

Senator Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) accused House Republicans of “hostage taking” for not passing a “clean” short-term extension to fund the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) with no cuts, comparing the situation to “a gun held” by the GOP to the heads of Democrats. “The issue is not essential air service. It’s not even a labor issue. It’s the issue of hostage taking. It’s as if someone puts a gun to your head and says ‘give me your money’ and then you say, ‘why won’t you give them their money?’

Hey, Chuck, got a little question for you: Let's say tomorrow the FAA went out of business. Totally lost the funding, someone deposited it in the wrong account, whatever. How long until the planes fly again? 3 hours maybe? Perhaps a whole day?

Understanding that a federal agency is not essential is the first step in comprehending just what a disaster you've helped make of government. The GOP didn't put a gun to anyone’s head (huh, it's like, I remember something about rhetoric and violence..eh, it's gone..) They simply, and oh so casually, moved it from pointing at the American people. Unfortunately, your gun is still pointed at the bottom of our very very flimsy economic boat, and you're certainly prone to shooting off without thought.

Wait to see where we put the gun when we have control of both houses .

I really don't think there's enough blue ribbon in the world to cover the brazen, utter, hideous chutzpah of a LIBERAL who DARES to utter the phrase "Republicans put a gun to our head and said 'give us your money'."

It's a lot like Hitler complaining about Jews exterminating Aryan Germans.

Or like Stalin saying that the Kulaks were starving Russian leadership in a planned pogrom.

It's just freakin' insane, Jim. Schumer is genuine my-head-just-exploded material.

Blue ribbon super congress committees can solve any problem. Three socialist dems. Three marxist dems. Three progressive Reublicans. Two moderate Republicans. One conservative Republican (fair and balanced, y’know). Especially, if Obama gets to cast the tie breaking vote. Presto. No more gridlock.

Oy Vey! (LOL one of grandma's favorite expressions...she came to America on the boat from Finland.)

I’m getting to the point where I don’t believe liberals and our side can coexist together on the planet at all.

At first glance, yes we might be subjugated by totalitarian control freaks running the planet..."liberals" probably not...Islam bigger threat, longer history.

Life, liberty and the pursuit and destruction of totalitarians. (we are still fortunate that we can vote them out of our lives...others we will have to use the ammo).

See my tagline. I'll fight until the ammo's out, no doubt, but I think the war might be lost.

Solution: DEFUND (DISMANTLE/DESTROY when necessary) socialist collectives, foreign and domestic.

Above all, if you wish to be strong, begin by rooting out every particle of socialism that may have crept into your legislation. This will be no light task. - Frederic Bastiat 1801-1850
