White House unveils broad plan to fight domestic radicalism
LA Times ^ | 8/4/11 | Brian Bennett

The White House announced a strategy to help police, schools and other local organizations counter the threat of domestic radicalism, a broad plan involving federal departments not usually associated with national security.

The effort is modeled on anti-gang initiatives developed in the 1990s and programs intended to prevent school shootings like the tragedy at Columbine High School in Colorado in 1999.

Although short on details, the eight-page outline for the first time called on all parts of the U.S. government, including the departments of Education and Health and Human Services, to devise ways to help communities identify extremist agendas that could lead to violence.

Wednesday's announcement came a week after the arrest of U.S. soldier Naser Jason Abdo in Killeen, Texas. Abdo was charged with possessing an unregistered destructive device after a gun store clerk tipped police that he had behaved oddly while buying gunpowder. Abdo planned to blow up a restaurant frequented by soldiers stationed at nearby Ft. Hood, authorities said.

At his arraignment, Abdo yelled out the name of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, the Army psychiatrist who is accused of killing 13 people and wounding 32 during a 2009 shooting rampage at Ft. Hood.

Congressional investigations into the Ft. Hood shootings revealed warning signs that could have tipped off authorities.

Intelligence reports indicate that Al Qaeda has tried to recruit Americans to launch attacks on U.S. soil.

Thirty-one American citizens or permanent residents were arrested between May 2009 and July 2011 in connection with homegrown terrorism plots, according to the Congressional Research Service. Those arrests within a two-year period contrast with 21 such arrests in the previous seven years.

Let me guess. Straight, white, males who believe in limited government are the greatest existential threat Napolitano, Holder, Obama, Ayers, and the rest of the Constitution-hating left-wing radicals in DC have ever faced.

I pray to God they are right.

Exactly.

We stand in their way, therefore, we must be removed.

This is not going to end the way they are hoping it will.

People need to wake up and smell the killing fields that inhabit the imaginations of the current occupants of the White House.

lthough the plan does not specify how agencies should prevent violent extremism, Levitt suggested that the Treasury, for example, could fund financial literacy programs for poor populations that might be vulnerable to extremist recruitment.

The Education Department could launch investigations to ensure that students who are having trouble assimilating are being treated equally in schools, he said. And Health and Human Services could fund programs that attempt to address mental and emotional health in at-risk communities, as the department did after the Columbine shootings, in which two teenagers killed 13 people before killing themselves.

So, it's just another welfare/outreach program. We *needed* another one of those.

Recall that Bill Ayers and company actually sat around and worked out the logistics to eliminate up to 25 million resistive patriots in the 1960s.

The hard left has had these feverish dreams for at least half a century.

Since Muslims are a protected class and various fedgov departments/agencies including the military and whatnot are trained in all the finer details of Muslim theology and behavior - so they can respect Muslims and not offend them in any way - (maybe even convert!!) - it is obvious that Muslims will not be the targets of this.

It’s crystal clear from Gestapitano’s internal memo a while ago that white people who like guns, who are religious, who espouse patriot views or belong to like organizations and are vets are the targets. IOW enemies of the marxist coup are the targets.

Sport, I just got those books and I’m being a nuisance urging others to get them. I can’t say enough praise. There’s only one problem - other stuff like chores and projects and even early to bed get shuffled off to the side.

The hard left has had these feverish dreams for at least half a century.

As history sahows, they've acted on them to the tune of over 200 million people in the last century alone. A worldview that holds human beings to be things, animals or machines is monstrous. Those views are nonetheless held by human beings. Human beings who must be held accountable in this world by us; their Creator will hold them accountable in the next.

"...or send to private schools of your choosing." - Servant of the Cross

I've already got my son in a private Christian school... But along with that, he (at age six) understands that there are people out that that will be more than happy to take our freedoms away.

He knows that the correct answer to "any guns?" is "No. My mom and dad said those things are too dangerous." He knows not to talk about politics to anyone without checking with me first to see if it's okay to do so. I've also told him to answer with vague stuff political about Star Wars and Jedi Masters if someone pressures him, and then to come and tell me who was doing the pressuring.

Then, at night, when the little guy goes to bed, he says his prayers thanking God for his "family, mommy's delicious meals, daddy's guns, all my toys, and especially Your son Jesus, that died on the cross for our sins".

He becomes more politically aware every day, and knows that evil exists... My job is to make sure he knows how to handle it before he actually has to.

hahahahahahahahahaha. Would your children be telling them this? hahahahahaha. Love it.

My point being, that I have heard so many people telling their children all their business, when it is none of the kids business. Your kids are trained to be smart, but a lot arn't, and like to brag.

Keep up the good work.
