Ahh, he's using the new "Telephone Town Hall" gimmick, so he doesn't have to actually face the voters.
My rep Jane Harman (D) did this a couple of times last summer.
Never once did she meet personally with her constituents.
Beware of politicans foisting this evasion tactic on the public...
Telephone townhalls can be useful to the public. If the member is stuck in Washington for serious votes then a TTH is better than no contact at all. It's all has to do with the member and what kind of questions they take. I used to manage them for a a Congressman who is well-liked here on FR and voted NO on the debt limit bill last week. But in our case there were no instructions or limits on which questions to take and the only calls I filtered out were the kooks asking about flying saucers.
