Insulin IS necessar for diabetics. The good new, if such there be in this, is that her doc can call her Rx into a pharmacy in Phoenix and she can get more there. Or TSA could send out to her on the next flight and deliver directly to her.

Wasn’t there a major brouhaha post-9/11 about airline screeners HAVING to be public servants (using the term loosely), and not employees of private companies? That was really effective.

Yes, she could get more at a pharmacy in Phoenix, but most insurance companies will not pay for a prescription that is not about to run out. For example, I cannot get my refills until I’m within 7 days of needing them again. On a 90 day refill, that means if I try to get them sooner than 83 days after I last got them, the insurance company won’t pay. I would have to pay for the prescription out-of-pocket and the insurance company won’t reimburse me.
