I emailed Speaker Boehner through his website at the height of the debt ceiling debate. He finally responded... and was crowing about the success of his speakership. I replied with the following email... However, it was kicked back since this isn't an email box which receives incoming emails. Thought I would post it here instead...
Speaker Boehner,
You raised the debt ceiling without appreciable concrete cuts in federal spending.
You allowed the Dems to continue to treat the Stimulus as part of the baseline budget and give us $1.5T annual deficits as the spending floor.
You didn't even attempt to defund Obamacare.
With $2.1T anticipated cuts by the unconstitutional "super" congress you established, our debt is expected to grow another $13T over the next 10 years. You and your cronies are crowing about a plan to tackle our debt that doubles our debt in 10 years… only in Washington are people that stupid.
You pretty much ensured the expiration of the Bush Tax Cuts... after the next election.
You gave the President an unconstitutional blank check to get him through the next election rather than keeping this very important issue front and center every day through election day.
You ran around Washington doing the bidding of the Democrats rather than standing firm with your party's priorities as voted on in the House. Let's face it... you were their lap dog! You should have stood firm... the House is the pre-eminent body as the peoples' direct representatives in Washington!
You gave the Democrats a way out of the hole they had dug for themselves. Once again, the "stupid" party fails to take advantage where the "treasonous" party would have sadistically twisted the knife.
You sided with the Progressive wing of the political establishment against the conservatives which swept you to office last Fall. Frankly, your caving to the Democrats began so quickly after the election, the mandate and mission you were given just evaporated in smoke. So much for historic (and perilous) opportunities.
I fail to see how you accomplished anything at all besides giving conservatives a black eye. As a conservative, I intend to support your opponent in your upcoming primary challenge.
