Gov. Scott Walker has ordered the Wisconsin State Patrol to provide additional law enforcement help at the Wisconsin State Fair after several incidents involving rampaging youths broke out on the fairgrounds and on the streets outside Thursday night.
Cullen Werwie, Walker's spokesman, said the governor made the decision after reviewing the events from Thursday night, in which at least 24 people were arrested.
"We will continue to evaluate the situation and make any adjustments necessary to ensure a successful and safe event. We will be doing everything in our power to ensure that parents feel that it is safe to bring their children to the world's best fair," Werwie said in a statement.
Also, Rick Frenette, CEO of the fair, announced that, because of the violence overnight, the fair would immediately implement a policy in which no youths under 18 years of age would be allowed onto the grounds after 5 p.m. without a parent or guardian who is at least 21 years of age. There will be no changes at the Midway.
Frenette, a veteran of 40 years in the fair management business, said he had never implemented such a policy before. The International Association of Fairs and Expositions said there is only one other fair in the country -- the South Carolina State Fair -- that has such a policy.

I heard this story on ABC radio news earlier today. This is what they said:
“Last night, at a Wisconsin state fare, a group of young people beat up other people for apparently no reason.”

Thanks for posting. I have Wisconsin relatives who are giving the fair a miss this year, due to the problems. It’s good to hear they are being addressed, hope it’s effective.
Unfair to all the nice kids who want to go there. I have fond memories of hanging with my teen friends at the MN fair.
We see no civil rights violations. No reason to investigate. Obama/Holder Dept. of Just Us
With a wild animal, you surround them and eliminate them. If these kids want a race war and their parents, if they know who they are, can’t control them, the general population should.
Note to self: When planning to take the neice and nephew to the Fair for a Merry-go-round/Ferris wheel ride, check the musical entertainment planned for the night.

Here in the ATL they tried doing “Free movies on the Green” twice this Spring at a downtown park. In both instances the evening ended in shots being fired and folks running in panic.
Most of these kids have never met their parents. That’s the problem.

I take this to mean a pass will no longer be given to people with a swarthy complexion?
This had nothing to do with the music (MC Hammer) as the perps were not in attendance at the show.
This has been happening almost daily all over the country.
Are the LEOs and security advisors for these events asleep at the wheel?
This does not happen in the sticks because we cannot count on LEOs to be there in time as many of us are miles from the nearest police or sheriff dept., so we defend ourselves.
Until the law abiding urbanites realize this they will as sheep led to the slaughter.

Does that mean that he'll have the *Walker Stalkers arrested the next time they shout down the Governor?
*Walker Stalkers -- Unionistas and school teachers who follow Gov. Walker around and try to shout him down every time he opens his mouth. They want to recall him.
Tell your relatives to try the Ozaukee County Fair instead. It’s free and it’s held in the center of Cedarburg. We have animals, a midway, cream puffs, Demolition Derby, Tractor ulls, and just about everything the State Fair has except thugs. It runs at the same time as the State Fair, just not as long. It will close this coming Sunday.
Not to worry, I am sure the Southern Poverty Law Center is drawing up a lawsuit against these racist thugs as I type this, will take them to court and get a big judgement.
hmmm I wonder if welfare, foodstamps and free phones can be taking away ?
I’ll mention it when we talk tonight. I’m pretty sure they know about the Ozaukee Fair already, they’ve been in Wisconsin for decades.
