Well, you get a lot of credit for the work you are doing. While many rant and rave from their blogs or computers, you are in the trenches everyday trying to turn this counry around.
BTW, a good role model for these young girls would be the conservative congresswoman, Star Parker. she is a black woman who came through the welfare system and has a great story. I saw her speak at a Tea Party rally.
I enjoyed reading your profile page. Aren’t you the Bert freeper that gave so much hell several years back? Lol. I mean no disrespect. Remember a Bert (back in ‘99-’00) who was constantly thrown off and kept coming back? Was that you? *smile*
Thank you for the kind words. It is very rewarding work. I grew up in a rough home life and to some degree understand their anger. You know what surprises me..... many of these girls are pro life or very interested in discussing those issues and quite a few don’t like obama. They tell me, “he is stupid” and say “he only got into office because he’s black.” Lol. These girls see truth.

Here is an example of one of the ideas. The local public school district in my area currently spends $11,000 + per student, with over 50% of that money coming from state aid. If instead of spending the $11,000 we issued $5000 dollars into a state and parent controlled account that the parent could then spend on the educational needs of there child. (An instant 55% savings for the tax payer) We have two private/church schools in the area that charge well below the $5000 amount so a parent could choose to send their child to that private school. I would think that some business person would also look into starting a school that could compete for the students, so we would have true competition in education. There could also be a requirement that the money not used in a given year returns to the state and that this would be a temporary (transitional) payment...eventually the parent has to take full responsibility for the education of their child. I for one would not use any of the money to educate my seven children...as I use no government money today. This would mean that the $35,000 that would be entered into my account would all go back to the state. Imagine if ONE state would start something like this...property taxes would drop, income taxes would drop, children would be better educated. I could see this as a major drawing point for families to move to a state...meaning an increase in population causing business growth. And the biggest benefit would be that parents would take personal responsibility for the education of their children...so the children will be better off.
HEY!!! that’s MY doggy! :)
God bless you for what you’re doing to help those girls!!!
Thank you so very much for your very kind words.
I read on your profile the 12 points listed for positive character. Who is the author? You? I like how each trait is defined. I’d
like to copy them
and post them
where I work.
ahhh, memory lane . . . lol
Hello! Yes, Lady Jag was hoping that you would tell us that the perfect GSD was yours. She couldn’t remember who gave her the picture, so she sent me out to SPAM the threads in the hopes that you would speak up.
She’ll be very happy to know that you’re the one who gave her the picture.
I don’t remember who the author is..
I sorta (stole) borrowed it from another FReeper.
Go forth and do the same!! :)
Yep. That’s my dog. I can’t take a decent pic for the life of me.
When I accidently was successful, once, I sent to L J and she did the rest.
That dog is famous, btw....she met Ann Coulter...
Use the pic with respect. Ha!!!
LJ.....don’t you have another one with the other GSD in a rowboat? I know you did something with that one, too.
Wow! Ann Coulter, huh. That’s really neat.
Yes, Lady Jag! Where’s the one in the rowboat?
Yeppers! She met Ann @ a booksigning.
LJ.....you also have that one of the FRdog in the backyard with space ships, remember?
Is the dog still wearing glasses?
He's looking for contributors.
Yes! That was it. Lol. Those were some fun times. Do you remember Deb? She’s still around. I lurked a long time because she scared me.....tore into everyone with her biting wit.... and cracked me up. Oh, I keep goin off topic! *smile *
Seriously those are good ideas. Funds could be used by homeschoolers as well. If they wanted. Problem would be private sector taking the risk to start the initial schools....and getting teacher unions out of their faces. Heck I’d be happy to start with vouchers and let it grow from there.
Nothing’s going to happen until we get Obama out of here
Ah, thought it was you —revised. Yes, it was A+Bert.
That’s what I guessed. I am the original bert
