It would take just one man with a shotgun picking them off one by one as in any zombie movie or movie where they’re infected with “the rage”...take your pick. Boom! Splat! Boom! Splat! It would end in a heartbeat. Of course, there would then be the incessant outrage and on-air tears on nightly new programs devoted to white racism violence with no mention at all of what precipitated the response, and then the lawsuits from obnoxious little nudges from “men” named Harvey and Barry.

Where have you gone, Mayor Daley (the real Mayor Daley) and Mayor Rizzo? This type of thing would have ended before it started courtesy of the end of a nightstick of some giant Irish cops. Can anyone believe these men were Democrats given what that party has become?

I think you are very much on target with this. In the late 60’s, my step father was a major in the local sheriff department. Politically, the county government was largely Democratic. This was during the time when race riots were popping up all over the country.
The county sheriff invited a number of black community leaders in for a meeting. When they arrived at the conference room in the courthouse, the large table was piled high with weapons, hand and long guns, military weapons, tear gas grenade launchers, night sticks and the like. No mention was made at all about the hardware and there was a low key discussion discussion took place asking for ideas and cooperation in assuring that there would not be any copy cat disturbances locally. It was a nice, quiet summer in our town.
