Tel Aviv stock market down about 6%, ceased trading for a while.
[Where are all those who claimed ‘buying opportunity’ when dips happened during the Bush year?]
How low will stocks go -— Monday Monday Monday?

So very true about energy. Removing the onerous restrictions (and no, I am not talking about mine safety) on mining and drilling for oil and gas would jump start the economy. Not only would the energy companies employ hundreds of thousands, but it would mean an uptick in employment for all of the suppliers.
Also, cheap energy here would compensate for our higher labor costs, allowing us to be competitive with products internationally. And we could export surplus fuels.
The best part of this is it would not require one thin dime of taxpayer money. Just signing a piece of paper repealing all of the restrictions.

Bravo Bray!
Thanks very much for the thread, Alas Babylon!!!
MTP comes on here at the top of the hour. I'm going to try to watch. Emphasis on *try*.
You're one tolerant guy, rodguy911. I couldn't bear to endure C-SPAN's idiot callers and *Never on Sunday*.

Until we have leadership who has the strength and heart of the Tea Pary Pats we will never get off the road to oblivion. I just wanted to repeat the one sentence above in this brilliant set of paragraphs that well define the problem/solution we face as a nation and how to fix it by one of tomorrows great leaders Mr. Bray.

FR is a little slow on the take, probably a good time to donate to Jimrob to help him out a little bit.
If we can't fund this site who or what can we fund?
It only takes a dollar a day.

"Waiting for Gloria Steinem to sing I am woman." I once opened a door for her going in to a department store. She didn't even say "Thank you." I think it ticked her off. That was fun.

Gregory put the guest list up on Twitter yesterday and I gave him a snarky response. Asked him if he couldnt at least have invited someone like Dave Ramsey.
It is their [MSM's] version of the old lawyers adage: Never have a guest that you don't know what they will say. [Lawyer: Never ask a witness a question you don't already know the answer to.]
That way, MSM can still control the conversation, because they pretty well know who is going to say what.
I am just surprised that these Sunday newsie programs are able to maintain a consistent level of ratings when they have the same old 'guests' on week after week.

This frantic push back by the Left tells us they know full well who will be blamed for this downgrade.

Thanks AB. Much effort to blame Tea Party for the S&P downgrade. Just outrageous. The Tea Party IS the American People.

The only silver lining I can see in all of this is that oil should keep dropping. I was worried that zero might just ignore the entire debt fiasco especially after he spent the entire debt ceiling bump in hours but no worries it seems.
He’s going on a listening(make that fund raising) tour by bus....I’m trying to think who else goes on tour by bus....now what was her name....Palin I believe.
